23:59:55 <nitzmahone> hiya
00:00:10 <zikalino826544> hello :-)
00:00:15 <yungezz> I don’t have special topic today except for prs
00:00:33 <zikalino826544> well, i think i would like to learn about status of collections a bit more
00:01:04 <yungezz> One question, will aws google module move to collections also?
00:01:25 <nitzmahone> I think Google is moving to collections
00:01:37 <yungezz> Aws not?
00:02:04 <nitzmahone> AWS will eventually, but those are a combo of community and ansible-maintained (no Amazon staff work on them)
00:02:10 <zikalino826544> aws is supported mostly by not aws contributors, right?
00:02:15 <nitzmahone> correct
00:02:31 <nitzmahone> We're trying to work with the folks that want to release faster than Ansible core first
00:02:46 <nitzmahone> (since most of AWS is maintained by us / community, that doesn't really apply)
00:03:19 <nitzmahone> The eventual goal is to move most everything (if not actually everything) to collections
00:03:35 <zikalino826544> is there any top level document already on how to move to collection?
00:04:12 <nitzmahone> Still being written along with the tooling for creating/publishing/installing. 2.8 supports *consuming* collections, but the rest of the tooling is coming in 2.9
00:04:35 <nitzmahone> (including the ansible-test changes to support testing collections outside the Ansible codebase)
00:05:27 <zikalino826544> so the testing won't be just left to collection supporter?
00:05:38 <yungezz> MyronFanQiu: any Pr ready for reviewing?
00:05:41 <zikalino826544> or there will be some special requirements for tests?
00:06:19 <nitzmahone> Case-by-case basis, some partners are taking testing in-house, some are planning on leaving it with us for now
00:06:20 <MyronFanQiu> not for today.
00:06:28 * jborean93 arriving late
00:06:40 <nitzmahone> If you want to see the create/publish/install tool changes, https://github.com/ansible/ansible/pull/57106
00:06:44 <yungezz> Thanks
00:07:48 <nitzmahone> Apparently the _info module change in https://github.com/ansible/ansible/pull/58576 has broken some tests after merging (I haven't looked into this myself)
00:08:40 <nitzmahone> Oh, I see Zim's been talking with them already
00:09:27 <nitzmahone> Yeah, would be good to get the gallery module tests figured out, but looks like they've been disabled for the moment
00:09:59 <nitzmahone> I had nothing else exciting for today- anyone else?
00:10:02 <nitzmahone> #topic open floor
00:10:24 <nitzmahone> looks like Zim's having connection issues
00:10:54 <yungezz> Yes
00:11:04 <yungezz> No topic from me
00:11:13 <zikalino826544> yes, i am still at home, using oustide internet which is just broken :-(
00:11:21 <nitzmahone> bummer :(
00:11:29 <nitzmahone> OK, nice and quick meeting then- if nothing else, closing in 5..
