17:10:19 <geppetto> Not much has changed since the last meeting … has everyone had a chance to look at the new fonts guidelines?
17:10:35 <mhroncok> sorry, not this year :(
17:11:02 <decathorpe> I skimmed them, and they look detailed and comprehensive. I can't comment on the fonts specific stuff though
17:11:09 <decathorpe> other than that ...
17:11:25 <tibbs> I will admit to not having much chance to look at anything. Right now I'm in a hotel room in New Orleans.
17:12:09 <tibbs> I skimmed them when they first dropped and as expected there's a lot of detail but I recall some complaints regarding the complete elimination of bitmap fonts.
17:13:44 <decathorpe> really? there's an extra section about bitmap fonts in there.
17:14:47 <tibbs> But the section on "core fonts" ius gone, isn't it?
17:16:23 <tibbs> Ah, it's moved and renamed.
17:17:33 <tibbs> It's super hard to read the patch because it doesn't use semantic breaks and my screen isn't paticularly wide.
17:18:31 <geppetto> yeh, I mostly gave up on reading the patch and just read the new document as a whole
17:18:38 <geppetto> too much has changed.
17:19:20 <geppetto> I guess I'm mostly with decathorpe … the document looked fine, and the packaging parts I understood seemed good … but I don't really know anything font specific.
17:19:37 <tibbs> In any case, I know there were some on-list comments (from Mamoru in particular) but I don't recall if or how they were addressed.
17:19:52 <geppetto> nirik: Any comments?
17:22:29 <nirik> I didn't look at it too much, but it looked ok from what I could skim. :)
17:23:17 <geppetto> Oh, sorry … got confused … thought you'd submitted it … it was nim
17:26:30 <tibbs> There are a number of moving parts here. I think the best we can do is review the document for basic sanity and functionality and then see how he rest of the discussions in other areas progress.
17:26:39 <geppetto> #topic Open Floor
17:26:47 <tibbs> The last comment in the ticket suggests ongoing discussion elsewhere, but I'm not sure how that ended up.
17:30:49 <decathorpe> any comments on this: https://pagure.io/packaging-committee/issue/937
17:32:11 <mhroncok> makes sense, but I haven't checked the text yet
17:32:15 <tibbs> Almost certainly a case that got missed when bodgin the tilde versioning into the guidelines.
17:32:23 <tibbs> I knew where would be some.
17:33:25 <decathorpe> tibbs: yeah, there was some discussion in #fedora-devel about this, so I opened the ticket so we could clarify
17:33:51 <decathorpe> I can prepare a PR with the clarification
17:35:51 <geppetto> if you think you know how to fix then, yeh, I'd just do it.
17:35:52 <tibbs> I haven't been able to follow IRC at all lately.
17:36:11 <tibbs> But yes, I'm sure there are mistakes like that in there.
17:36:32 <decathorpe> it should be as simple as replacing "use <pkgrel> like for prereleases" to "use <pkgrel> as for stable releases"
17:36:41 <decathorpe> (not the actual text)
17:37:39 <tibbs> I think so, yes.
17:38:15 <geppetto> cool
17:39:04 <decathorpe> ok, I'll work on it :)
17:42:00 <tibbs> We need an easy/easier way to see the result of a PR, I think.
17:42:04 <geppetto> Ok, I'm going to close now … give you all 20 minutes back
17:42:23 <geppetto> tibbs: Any suggestions for how to get that?
17:42:25 <mhroncok> geppetto: tahnks
17:42:29 <tibbs> At home I use a browser extension but it doesn't give the actual results.
17:43:18 * geppetto nods … I mean we can submit a feature request … but unless someone knows how to do it I wouldn't hold my breath for that change.
17:43:22 <tibbs> I honestly don't know. I guess even some sequence of commands to check out the repo with the PR applied and format that. I'm sure git experts know how to do that easily but I ccan never remember.
17:44:49 <geppetto> I've always clicked about on the website until I get something good enough
17:45:04 <geppetto> ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
17:45:25 <geppetto> Anyway, 5 minutes less … see you next week.
