20:06:50 <copperi[m]1> Happy new day to Ben :)
20:10:24 <bcotton> all days run together :-)
20:17:05 <glb[m]> Is there going to be some sort of "post mortem" analysis on how the various teams did for the previous release cycle?
20:17:56 <glb[m]> I was trying to watch the LLVM team to learn how things were run, but I don't feel like I learned as much as I had hoped.
20:19:02 <glb[m]> A kanban board was created (https://teams.fedoraproject.org/project/llvm-1300-update/kanban) but there was really only one team member updating it, so it didn't seem like there was much point to it.
20:19:09 <bcotton> probably not
20:20:03 <bcotton> i am looking at starting a regular retrospective survey post-release, but that might not start until f36
20:21:05 <glb[m]> OK. Until then, I guess I'll just "lurk" around as I have time and hopefully I'll pick up on things over time. 🙂
20:21:37 <bcotton> you actually caught me in the middle of emailing folks who are working on thigns to be like "hey....why don't you share info with the rest of us?" :-)
20:30:30 <glb[m]> One thing that might be helpful is if the FPgM team had its own Matrix room. That way, it would be easier for me to see the history of the conversations for that topic. Being in the general "meeting channel", I cannot easily scroll up to see what all has been discussed.

20:33:08 <bcotton> we do
20:34:13 * glb[m] uploaded an image: (33KiB) < https://libera.ems.host/_matrix/media/r0/download/fedora.im/8e6509d03d5ad24efd5ffeb8cdf1df197ca2e02c/Screenshot%20from%202021-11-03%2015-33-33.png >
20:34:48 <glb[m]> I joined this thing in the beta phase and I don't have all the room added automatically.
20:35:16 <bcotton> we've had #fedora-pgm:matrix.org from the beginning
20:35:18 <glb[m]> I remember some mention of my needing to do something special to get all the rooms, but I don't remember what it was (or where that was stated).
20:35:27 <glb[m]> Ah.
20:35:56 <bcotton> I don't know if it has been created on Fedora's server yet. i haven't done anything with it because i'm waiting for the dust to settle and the instructions to come out :-)
20:36:32 <bcotton> Ah! But it looks like #pgm:fedoraproject.org exists now
20:36:36 <bcotton> So someone did it :-)
20:36:42 <glb[m]> Yeah, I've been avoiding creating a matrix.org account.
20:37:06 <bcotton> you can join matrix.org rooms with your fedora.im account. that's the beauty of federation
20:37:55 <glb[m]> I was hoping that I could do something like "/join #yada-yada:matrix.org" from here with my "@glb:fedora.im" account, but that doesn't seem to work.
20:38:09 <glb[m]> Or I just don't know how to do it.
20:38:17 <bcotton> you should be able to
20:39:27 <glb[m]> I tried that the other day with "#pagure" but it didn't seem to work.
20:39:44 <JTq5sys[m]> Ben Cotton (he/him/his): replied to your email. Also I should finally get the time this weekend to get a list for you about Spin Documentation that we talked about the other week.
20:39:59 <bcotton> Does it actually have a matrix room though?
20:40:04 <bcotton> JT (q5sys): awesome!
20:40:36 <glb[m]> I thought someone said it did. But I guess not since it doesn't work. That was just the first time I tried, so I didn't know what was wrong.
20:40:59 <glb[m]> I'm still learning my way around here.
20:41:25 <bcotton> glb: i'm pretty sure i joined it via the IRC bridge, not as a native matrix room
20:41:38 <glb[m]> I'm glad that using my @glb:fedora.im account on all the matrix rooms works though. I thought I had read that it was supposed to work that way. 🙂
20:42:58 <bcotton> yeah. i'm using both in separate clients for now. i should probably make the jump, but idk that i always want to be "representing" fedora when i interact in places...but afaict no clients support multiple identities
20:47:15 <JTq5sys[m]> bcotton: Yea this is my reservation in changing mine over. I dont want to seem to be representing Fedora with everything I say in every channel/server
20:48:13 <JTq5sys[m]> Lets say I get into a heated discussion with someone over some IT security issue... i dont want them walking away thinking People from Fedora are jerks. If they're going to think anyone is a jerk... I'd rather them think "I" am the jerk... and not Fedora. lol
20:48:21 <bcotton> exactly
20:49:04 <bcotton> or like say you're active in another project that uses matrix. you'd like to be `q6sys:otherproject.org` when you're in that project's spaces
20:50:14 <JTq5sys[m]> Exactly... I'm in 3 unique home spaces on various servers... i dont want to pick my favorite child.
20:50:15 <JTq5sys[m]> haha
20:51:46 <JTq5sys[m]> The only way I've found to get around that... is to create my own server/homespace that's mine... and then put my account on that... but that'd be silly. Reminds me of when I had my email on my own mailserver. q5sys@q5sys.sh was just weird to tell people and to read. q5sys:q5sys.sh would be the same.
20:55:04 <bcotton> and in that case, you might as well just use matrix.org and save yourself the trouble :-)
20:56:49 <JTq5sys[m]> pretty much yea
20:59:13 <bcotton> speaking of saving myself the trouble, i'm going to..... save myself the trouble of figuring out how to pivot to the end of the meeting and just #endmeeting :-)
20:59:14 <bcotton> #endmeeting
