14:02:26 <x3mboy[m]> Hi!
14:02:45 <grahamwhiteuk> Hey
14:03:28 <bcotton> hello, x3mboy and grahamwhiteuk
14:10:09 <x3mboy[m]> I have a question
14:10:27 <x3mboy[m]> I'm developing an app specific for the fedora i3 spin
14:10:48 <x3mboy[m]> This app needs to be packaged to then be added to the kickstart file
14:11:05 <x3mboy[m]> If I want this for F36, what's my deadline?
14:12:03 <bcotton> i'd say the beta freeze is what you should aim for. since i3 is non-blocking, you could do it up to the final freeze
14:12:29 <bcotton> and if it's not ready by then (and needs to be on the live media), then you can propose it as a freeze exception
14:12:34 <x3mboy[m]> Ok, that makes sense
14:15:12 <bcotton> If you want to do a self-contained change proposal, then that's due on tuesday, but you probably don't need to. I'd suggest opening an issue against the release notes so it gets included there, though
14:17:22 <anthr76[m]> Good day. I also have a question. Not sure who to really poke yet.. I'm interested in helping get a official ostree sway fedora spin much like kinoite. Who should I be talking to see if we have this happen?
14:18:28 <bcotton> anthr76: hello! From a process standpoint, https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/releases/spins/ is what you're after
14:18:29 <defolos> anthr76: first, the sway sig 😉
14:18:59 <bcotton> From a feasibility standpoint, https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/Sway
14:19:43 <bcotton> From an implementation standpoint, siosm could share the kinoite knowledge
14:22:10 <anthr76[m]> Indeed. Useful resources. :) I shall go poke who needs to be poked and try to get some interest from the community. I took what martinpitt has done so far (https://github.com/martinpitt/ostree-pitti-workstation/) and have brought it down to sane defaults Fedora embraces and it's working well so far. Which is why I'd love for it to be official at some point.
14:22:22 <anthr76[m]> Thank you Ben Cotton (he/him/his) defolos :)
14:25:07 <bcotton> anthr76: good luck. thanks for stopping by :-)
14:40:52 <grahamwhiteuk> bcotton, another quick GitLab question for you... have you had any experience migrating projects Pagure->GitLab? We had a question in the #fedora-websites team call yesterday around whether code migration would retain user names? I'm going to try an experiment to find out but wondered if you've done any migrations yet. I imagine given they're
14:40:52 <grahamwhiteuk> both FAS authenticated that user name migration wont be much of a problem.
14:41:27 <bcotton> I haven't, but I would expect the mapping to work as expected
14:41:49 <grahamwhiteuk> Me too. I'll run a quick test anyway I think. Thanks.
14:42:03 <bcotton> Tests are good :-)
