15:01:27 <zodbot> Current chairs: bconoboy ddutile dgilmore dmarlin hrw jsmith kyle pbrobinson pwhalen
15:01:31 <pwhalen> good morning folks
15:01:34 * jsmith waves
15:01:48 * pbrobinson waves
15:02:44 <hrw> o/
15:02:58 <pwhalen> ok, lets get started ..
15:03:04 <pwhalen> #topic 1) ==== Package Status & Issues  ====
15:03:24 <pwhalen> how're we looking pbrobinson, hrw ?
15:03:29 <pbrobinson> we're OK
15:03:39 <pbrobinson> except it looks like ghc is completely fucked
15:03:44 <pwhalen> :/
15:03:47 <pbrobinson> I officially give up on it for f-22
15:03:47 <hrw> ;D
15:04:19 <pwhalen> pbrobinson, how is it broken?
15:04:39 <hrw> some crazy build order required and got broken too many times?
15:05:02 <pbrobinson> pwhalen: details in the bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1195231
15:05:22 <dgilmore> hey all
15:05:38 <pwhalen> #info ghc still causing issues
15:05:46 <pwhalen> #link https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1195231
15:05:58 <pbrobinson> the "fixed" builds are broken, to fix it needs the gold linker which apparently is incomplete for aarch64. I have no idea why it worked in F-21 and not now but I've wasted so much time on it I officially no longer fucking care
15:06:09 <bconoboy> #info gold maintainer asked to include gold for aarch64 in f22/f23, reply pending
15:06:31 <pwhalen> howdy bconoboy!
15:06:33 <dgilmore> bconoboy: f23 yes, f22 is too late
15:06:34 <pbrobinson> and if the maintainer tries the same tricks in F-23 I'll blow a fuse
15:06:52 <bconoboy> dgilmore: f22 update? ;-)
15:07:01 <dgilmore> bconoboy: well we can include it, just no default to it
15:07:07 <dgilmore> just not
15:07:08 <bconoboy> dgilmore: ok
15:07:19 <dgilmore> it is too late to switch the default linker
15:07:41 <pwhalen> everything else is looking okay?
15:07:48 <pbrobinson> bconoboy: IMO that would be massive, it would touch every ghc package in F-22 across all arches, it's not with the effort IMO
15:08:11 <kylem> pbrobinson, we didn't build gold in f21.
15:08:16 <pbrobinson> pwhalen: no, there's an issue with python builds around gdb, looks to be related to the gdb issue with firefox
15:08:21 <bconoboy> pbrobinson: Okay, sounds like f23 only then
15:08:38 <pbrobinson> kylem: I know, what I don't know is why ghc works in F-21 without gold and won't in F-22
15:09:10 <pwhalen> #info Issue with python builds around gdb, looks to be related to the gdb issue with firefox
15:09:18 <pwhalen> any bz's for that?
15:09:20 <pbrobinson> mind it seems ghc ABIs break if you change the number of processors to build it so it's anyone's guess
15:09:33 <dgilmore> ghc is super fragile
15:10:08 <pbrobinson> pwhalen: I think there's a BZ against gdb for the firefox issue, I've not had time to look for it or closer at the issue, but it's now blocking everything for rawhide
15:10:20 <dgilmore> pwhalen: is gdb broken on aarch64 as well as armv7hl?
15:10:41 <pwhalen> not aware of the aarch64 gdb issue, or need to be reminded
15:11:07 * pbrobinson might have his wires crossed, I don't remember the details, someone mentioned somewhere that I can't recall the two were related
15:11:20 * pbrobinson might have also dreamt this
15:11:23 <pwhalen> ah, yes for armhfp
15:11:23 <bconoboy> We talking about https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1211660 ?
15:11:37 <pwhalen> & https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1196181
15:11:48 <pbrobinson> but someone needs to investigate why it's broken (again) anyway
15:11:55 <kylem> put it on my todo
15:11:56 <kylem> :/
15:12:03 <pbrobinson> thanks kylem
15:12:16 <dgilmore> thanks kylem
15:12:19 <pwhalen> many thanks kylem ..
15:12:49 <pwhalen> ok..
15:12:54 <pwhalen> come back!

15:13:17 <pwhalen> #info Reported Issues:
15:13:17 <pwhalen> #info Unable to enter passphrase for encrypted rootfs when no 'console=' is included on aarch64
15:13:17 <pwhalen> #link https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1172740
15:13:47 <pwhalen> msalter updated the BZ (thanks again!)
15:13:56 * masta is here
15:14:03 <masta> hey gang
15:14:13 <msalter> lerzek pointed to 1103393 as possible duplicate
15:14:13 <pwhalen> morning jdisnard
15:14:32 <msalter> which looks like it is same root issue
15:15:20 <pwhalen> #info possible dup of https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1103393
15:15:36 <pbrobinson> msalter: it does look very similar
15:15:49 <pwhalen> indeed
15:15:52 <kylem> that's about as far as i got debugging it a month or so ago.
15:16:19 <kylem> (plymouth)
15:16:56 <pwhalen> #info upgraded system does not reboot automatically, ctrl+alt+del is needed: Failed unmounting /sysroot/proc (Fedup)
15:16:56 <pwhalen> #link https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1209941
15:16:56 <pwhalen> #info Not arch specific.
15:17:39 <pwhalen> and lastly
15:17:51 <pbrobinson> pwhalen: looking at the last changelog for fedup it looks like the auto reboot option was removed, or and I reading the fedup changelog wrong?
15:17:51 <pwhalen> #info Server installation does not use product specific default fileystem, artwork. Netinstall defaults to minimal.
15:18:08 <pwhalen> #undo
15:18:08 <zodbot> Removing item from minutes: INFO by pwhalen at 15:17:51 : Server installation does not use product specific default fileystem, artwork. Netinstall defaults to minimal.
15:18:37 <pwhalen> it still reboots, but fails..
15:19:29 <pwhalen> #info Server installation does not use product specific default fileystem, artwork. Netinstall defaults to minimal.
15:19:43 <pwhalen> i think hrw hit some others with virt ...
15:20:07 <hrw> there was issue with efibootmgr
15:20:16 <hrw> #link https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1213890
15:20:48 <hrw> I installed f22 in same vm twice and efibootmgr failed to remove previous install entry
15:21:02 <pbrobinson> didn't we have a similar issue with F-21?
15:21:26 <pwhalen> we did, but on actual hw
15:21:37 <hrw> moment
15:22:00 * hrw ->call. srry
15:22:26 <pwhalen> ok. did anyone hit any other issues with f22?
15:23:40 <pwhalen> ok.. next?
15:24:14 <pwhalen> #topic 3) ==== F22 - Beta Released Today! ====
15:24:14 <pwhalen> #info === Please help update the Installation wiki
15:24:14 <pwhalen> #link https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Architectures/ARM/F22/Installation
15:24:57 <jsmith> I tested the installation instructions on the Beta (Workstation) image yesterday
15:25:04 <jsmith> (on a BeagleBone Black)
15:25:09 <jsmith> Seemed to work just fine :-)
15:25:18 <pwhalen> one ive not tested .. good to know, thanks jsmith
15:25:32 * kylem never got aruond to testing trimslice... still on the todo list
15:25:39 <pwhalen> #info == Identified Issues in Beta ==
15:25:44 <jsmith> Well, just fine meaning I got a serial console. Graphical login never came up, and initial-setup didn't happen on the console
15:25:51 <pbrobinson> I've tested minimal images on Jetson and BBB and looks good
15:25:57 <pwhalen> #info Firefox segfaults on armhfp
15:25:57 <pwhalen> #link https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1211660
15:26:03 <jsmith> Not sure whether those are *supposed* to work on BBB with the Workstation image...
15:26:15 <pbrobinson> will be testing Wkstn on Jetson soon too and checking other images on various devices
15:26:24 <pwhalen> firefox not working stinks, but not release blocking for us
15:26:42 <pwhalen> i then ran into this
15:26:45 <pwhalen> #info GDB fails with Cannot parse expression `.L1055 4@r4'.
15:26:45 <pwhalen> #link https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1196181
15:27:07 <pwhalen> finally, some cosmetic issues we need fixed for final
15:27:12 <pwhalen> #info F22 Beta RC1 progress bar does not update
15:27:13 <pwhalen> #link https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1210042
15:28:06 <kylem> pwhalen, i can look at that too.
15:28:08 <pwhalen> this is annoying. on the highbank the progress bar works fine.
15:28:14 <kylem> (ff)
15:28:44 <dgilmore> it seems to work okay in vnc
15:28:56 <dgilmore> but not when using a locally attached monitor
15:29:27 <pwhalen> dgilmore, ive also seen it in vnc
15:29:33 <dgilmore> pwhalen: okay
15:30:02 <pwhalen> #info no visible mouse cursor on some arm boards
15:30:02 <pwhalen> #link https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1205725
15:30:23 <dgilmore> I have tested graphical anaconda installs on wandboard quad, trimslice, jetson tk1 and cubietruck
15:30:41 <pwhalen> dgilmore, and.. all working?
15:30:52 <dgilmore> pwhalen: trimslice seems fragile
15:31:11 <pwhalen> trimslice is very fragile for me too, only done text installs though
15:31:17 <dgilmore> cubietruck has the not updating progress bar issue
15:32:04 <dgilmore> need to write something to install u-boot on install, since anaconda's partitioning wipes u-boot
15:32:15 <dgilmore> at least on the wanboard quad
15:32:30 <dgilmore> I am sure it would on the cubietruck if using a sdcard
15:32:46 <pwhalen> that'd be awesome. yea, wipes it on everything ive tried
15:33:05 <pwhalen> if you install to the media that has uboot written
15:33:25 <pwhalen> any other issues ive not mentioned?
15:34:04 <dgilmore> not that I can think of
15:34:31 <pwhalen> #topic 4) ==== Kernel Status ====
15:35:20 <pbrobinson> only thing from me is 4.0 GA is in F-22, so we're close to what we'll get in GA, plus any patches we need
15:35:31 <pbrobinson> and 4.1 is on it's way for rawhide
15:36:06 <hrw> 4.1 got built on primary ones
15:36:49 <pbrobinson> yes, it's blocking on koji-shadow in rawhide like just about everything else due to python, will look at it specifically later today
15:38:05 <pwhalen> #topic 6) == Open Floor ==
15:39:07 <hrw> Virtualization works nice on fedora 22
15:39:23 <hrw> #link http://marcin.juszkiewicz.com.pl/2015/04/17/running-vms-on-fedoraaarch64/
15:41:46 <pwhalen> worth mentioning, pbrobinson has enabled uboot for the Raspberry Pi 2 - http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=629043
15:42:19 <pbrobinson> no idea if it works
15:42:21 <pwhalen> ive tested it and it works, boots up clivem's f21 image.
15:42:50 <pwhalen> also tested Beta with a 4.0 kernel.. working, with stability issues
15:43:12 <pwhalen> kylem is looking at what needed for our kernel and should have an update for us next week
15:44:30 <pwhalen> anything else for open floor?!
15:46:03 <pwhalen> #endmeeting
