The maintainer pointed that the difficulty in building chromium in general, and that aarch64 presented its own problems. When I looked it it, it seems the build process was hardcoded to cross built it 15:11:59 <pwhalen> #info Chromium also missing, not yet built. If anyone has cycles to look at it for aarch64 the help is appreciated. 15:12:12 <jlinton> although, ninja's use isn't clear to me.. so there might be a higher level flag to disable cross building the 3rd party packages its shipping with. 15:12:18 <pbrobinson> jlinton: yes, the whole chromium build process is a shit show, and one that changes the goal posts regularly, which is why I've never bothered to look 15:12:44 <pbrobinson> like it ships entire forks of multiple toolchains 15:13:11 <pwhalen> lets move on 15:13:14 <pwhalen> #topic 1) ==== Userspace Status ==== 15:13:52 <pwhalen> any userspace issues? build or usage? 15:14:33 <pbrobinson> none I'm aware of 15:15:35 <pwhalen> #info No known userspace issues. 15:15:47 <pwhalen> #topic 2) ==== Kernel Status ==== 15:16:26 <pwhalen> how does everything look in 4.12? 15:17:33 <pbrobinson> 4.12 is looking OK 15:17:42 <pbrobinson> I need to test it wider 15:18:11 <pbrobinson> in the 4.11 case we're now on 4.11.6 and there's some fixes for RPi and more OrangePi devices supporting ethernet 15:18:36 <pwhalen> I did some testing yesterday but will do the rest over the next couple of days. if others can do the same and report any issues.. 15:19:19 <pwhalen> #info Kernel 4.11.6 includes some fixes for RPi and more OrangePi devices supporting ethernet. 15:19:34 <pwhalen> #info Please test and report any issues to the list or #fedora-arm. 15:20:10 <rric> there should be now also boot support for CN99xx (ThunderX2) systems 15:20:32 <rric> since kernel-4.11.6-300.fc26 15:21:27 <pwhalen> #info kernel-4.11.6-300.fc26 includes support for CN99xx (ThunderX2) systems. 15:21:35 <pwhalen> very nice, thanks rric 15:21:45 <rric> I still need some final testing 15:21:52 <rric> but looking good so far 15:22:11 <rric> + some updates for CN88xx (ThunderX) 15:22:28 <pbrobinson> rric: cool, let me know if there's anything else needed there 15:22:30 <rric> thanks to pbrobinson for taking the time to look into my patches 15:22:33 <pwhalen> any other kernel news? 15:23:01 <pbrobinson> probably a lot, but none I can think of 15:23:07 <pwhalen> #topic 3) ==== Bootloader Status ==== 15:23:29 <pbrobinson> so I think we're looking OK here 15:23:54 <pbrobinson> the 2017.05 release in f26 will likely have another build to bring some extra bits of functionality 15:24:20 <pbrobinson> primarily a few bug fixes and some functionality for chain loading on some chromebooks 15:25:12 <pbrobinson> plus some improvements to support for rockchips devices 15:25:35 <pbrobinson> the 2017.07 release (which doesn't currently build) will have a lot of new aarch64 SBCs, enhanced chromebooks support 15:26:16 <pwhalen> #info Uboot 2017.05 release in f26 will likely have another build to bring some extra bits of functionality, primarily a few bug fixes and some functionality for chain loading on some chromebooks. 15:27:01 <pwhalen> #info Uboot 2017.07 to include new aarch64 SBCs, enhanced chromebooks support. 15:28:02 <pwhalen> #topic 4) ==== F26 Final ==== 15:28:38 <pwhalen> #info 2017-06-27 - final freeze. 15:29:03 <pwhalen> #info 2017-07-11 - F26 GA Release 15:29:32 <pwhalen> any concerns for final? 15:30:12 <pbrobinson> no, we need a grub2 fix 15:30:23 <pbrobinson> and there's a few other bits I'd like to get done 15:30:31 <pbrobinson> anyone got anything critical? 15:31:05 <pwhalen> #info Full list of blockers: https://qa.fedoraproject.org/blockerbugs/milestone/26/beta/buglist 15:31:19 <pwhalen> #topic 5) == Open Floor == 15:31:49 <pwhalen> anything else for today? 15:32:00 <jlinton> rric: pbrobinson: Back to the cn88xx, did you guys pick up markz's patch for the gicv3 errata? 15:32:25 <rric> jlinton, no, we only have boot support 15:35:05 <rric> jlinton, the idea is to upgrade the latest kernel once installed 15:35:21 <rric> to upgrade to ... 15:47:09 <pwhalen> sorry, I got distracted.. 15:47:12 <pwhalen> #endmeeting
