15:00:37 <pwhalen> morning folks, who's here today?
15:00:56 <alciregi> hello
15:01:03 <pwhalen> howdy alciregi
15:01:15 <jsmith> .hello2
15:01:16 <zodbot> jsmith: jsmith 'Jared Smith' <jsmith.fedora@gmail.com>

15:03:40 <jlinton> Morning
15:03:51 <pwhalen> morning jlinton jsmith
15:03:56 <pwhalen> ok, lets get started
15:04:08 <pwhalen> #topic 1) ==== Userspace Status  ====
15:04:32 <pwhalen> anyone seeing any new issues?
15:06:03 <pwhalen> looks like composes are working again
15:06:08 <pbrobinson> nothing major, got some mass rebuild bits to investigate but I don't believe it's anything arm specific
15:06:25 <pbrobinson> there's been a few composes in the last couple of days
15:06:53 <pwhalen> #info No new reported issues.
15:06:53 <pbrobinson> F-28 branching is currently in progress so be aware if you are building something I'd probably wait until tomorrow ATM
15:07:35 <pwhalen> #info F-28 branching currently in progress today (Feb 20th).
15:07:52 <pwhalen> #topic 2) ==== Kernel Status ====
15:07:59 <pwhalen> #info Latest: kernel-4.16.0-0.rc2.git0.1.fc28
15:08:00 <pwhalen> #link https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1046448
15:08:12 <pwhalen> has anyone has a chance to test?
15:08:48 <pbrobinson> I've tested it on a few devices and looks OK
15:09:07 <pbrobinson> also note the 4.15.4 kernel doesn't boot on the QCom db410c
15:09:56 <alciregi> even on RPi3 I encountered a problem after an update just today
15:10:08 <pwhalen> alciregi, what happened?
15:10:15 <pbrobinson> #info the 4.15.4 kernel which is on it's way to stable releases had mitigation for the Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities on ARM platforms (if affected)
15:10:15 <alciregi> at least I'm no more able to use the serial connection
15:10:27 <pbrobinson> alciregi: kernel update?
15:10:28 <pwhalen> :/
15:10:35 <alciregi> I must try with a monitor asap
15:10:47 <pbrobinson> alciregi: what kernel? What release?
15:10:47 <pwhalen> alciregi, this is 4.15.4
15:12:01 <alciregi> pbrobinson, you know, I'm a little dumb, but on rawhide just this morning I issued a dnf update, and after a reboot I'm no more able to access via the serial port
15:12:43 <pbrobinson> alciregi: and ARMv7 or aarch64? I need details.... "doesn't boot on RPi3" isn't useful :-/
15:13:04 <alciregi> ARMv7
15:13:06 <alciregi> yes
15:13:28 <pwhalen> ok, thanks alciregi. I'm updating now.. did it come up on the network?
15:13:43 <jlinton> If you think its meltdown/spectre related try booting with kpti=off
15:14:17 <alciregi> pwhalen, no, the update was successful
15:14:27 <jlinton> that disables the unmap the kernel bit, the spectre bits will basically be disabled if your firmware doesn't ack the smccc/psci calls
15:14:37 <pbrobinson> those patches have been in the 4.16 release for some time so I suspect that would have been seen earlier
15:15:13 <jlinton> I guess its possible those calls could crash the machine too, particularly if your PSCI implementation is questionable.
15:16:04 <pbrobinson> jlinton: yep, like https://kernelci.org/boot/id/5a885b9259b5143315b3a4d8/
15:17:01 <pwhalen> #info Please test and report any issues to the list or #fedora-arm.
15:17:14 <pwhalen> any other kernel news?
15:17:49 * jsmith has nothing
15:18:08 * pbrobinson either
15:18:22 <pwhalen> #topic 3) ==== Bootloader Status ====
15:18:28 <pwhalen> #info uboot-tools-2018.03-0.5.rc2.fc28
15:18:28 <pwhalen> #link https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1045270
15:18:42 <pbrobinson> there will be a rc3 incoming some time today
15:18:58 <pwhalen> confirmed this fixes Wandboard, thanks pbrobinson. anything else of note?
15:19:36 <pbrobinson> #info I think most of the devices should be fine as on the current build. If you have issues on any device please report to mailing list or #fedora-arm
15:21:07 <pwhalen> #topic 4)  == F28 Testing ==
15:21:29 <pbrobinson> # F-28 branching currently in process
15:22:00 <pwhalen> Rawhide composes have been broken for sometime, but last week a number of issues were fixed and we once again have successful composes
15:22:04 <pbrobinson> # please test 4.16 kernels and 2018.03 u-boot builds as these are the major releases that will land in F-28
15:22:34 <pbrobinson> yes, there was some fall out from gcc8 and and number of other fairly major landings
15:23:26 <pbrobinson> #info please test 4.16 kernels and 2018.03 u-boot builds as these are the major releases that will land in F-28
15:24:09 <alciregi> pbrobinson, 4.16 will be present in the next compose, or we are supposed to download it from koji?
15:24:21 <pwhalen> has anyone been able to test rawhide recently?
15:24:36 * jsmith hasn't
15:24:46 <pbrobinson> alciregi: it's already in the compose
15:25:29 <pbrobinson> alciregi: it's no different to anything else, sometimes you can test things quicker by downloading directly
15:26:40 <pbrobinson> #info The F-28 aarch64 changes for server promotion have also been enabled. The Everything and Server repos, plus Server/Cloud/Docker release artifacts will now go to primary mirrors
15:26:40 <alciregi> ok thanks
15:27:09 <pbrobinson> #info Server/Cloud/Docker release artifacts also now have the same blocking status as x86_64
15:27:14 <pbrobinson> #undo
15:27:14 <zodbot> Removing item from minutes: INFO by pbrobinson at 15:27:09 : Server/Cloud/Docker release artifacts also now have the same blocking status as x86_64
15:27:32 <pbrobinson> #info the aarch64 Server/Cloud/Docker release artifacts also now have the same blocking status as x86_64
15:29:11 <pwhalen> anything else for f28?
15:29:20 <pbrobinson> not from me
