15:00:10 <pwhalen> #topic roll call
15:00:20 <pwhalen> good morning folks, who's here today?
15:00:39 <tdawson> Hi
15:00:46 <pcfe> Hello
15:00:58 <pwhalen> good morning tdawson, pcfe
15:01:36 * pbrobinson o/
15:01:43 * pwhalen gives it a couple minutes for others to join
15:04:23 <pwhalen> ok, lets get started..
15:04:33 <pwhalen> #topic 1) ==== Userspace Status  ====
15:04:52 <pwhalen> how's user space looking? any new issues?
15:05:10 <pbrobinson> still the firefox issue
15:06:20 <pbrobinson> and the mozjs60 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1676292
15:06:37 <pwhalen> right. so we should likely add another browser to affected images. Midori might be the best choice.
15:08:41 <pwhalen> the mozjs60 looks like we got a build
15:09:09 <pwhalen> but we need a couple more patches
15:09:32 <pbrobinson> yes, there's a build but it's worked around but not fixed
15:10:11 <pwhalen> ok.
15:10:29 <pwhalen> anything else for user space issues?
15:11:14 <pwhalen> #topic 2) ==== Kernel Status ====
15:11:25 <pwhalen> #info F30: kernel-5.0.1-300.fc30
15:11:25 <pwhalen> #link https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1228626
15:11:53 <pwhalen> I think kernel-5 is looking good. Not seeing anything causing issues on arm or aarch64
15:11:57 <pbrobinson> the latest stable in f30 is kernel-5.0.0-300.fc30
15:12:27 <pwhalen> right, other in testing
15:12:56 <pwhalen> #info F31: kernel-5.1.0-0.rc0.git5.1.fc31
15:12:56 <pwhalen> #link https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1229525
15:13:24 <pwhalen> I've not looked at 5.1 at all
15:14:13 <pwhalen> #info Please test and report any issues to the list or #fedora-arm.
15:15:09 <pwhalen> #topic 3) ==== Bootloader Status ====
15:16:11 <pwhalen> #info Issue identified with Allwinner(A20) based SBC's on uboot-tools-2019.04-0.4.rc3.fc30. Board will data abort and reset.
15:17:17 <pwhalen> This affects rc2/3 at least. We ruled out a toolchain issue, but no fix yet. For affected boards please use F29 uboot for testing.
15:17:46 <pwhalen> Any other bootloader issues?
15:19:20 <pwhalen> #topic 4) == F30 ==
15:19:43 <pwhalen> #info Latest nominated nightly - https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Results:Current_Installation_Test
15:19:43 <pwhalen> #info F30 Beta Blockers
15:19:43 <pwhalen> #link https://qa.fedoraproject.org/blockerbugs/milestone/30/beta/buglist
15:20:03 <pwhalen> we have some arm issues identified as blockers
15:20:57 <pwhalen> jlanda, thanks , I'll do some arm/aarch64 testing after the meeting
15:21:23 <pwhalen> #info podman cannot be installed due to dependency on conmon (subpackage of retired / moved to module cri-o)
15:21:23 <pwhalen> #link https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1686636
15:22:10 <pwhalen> This has been causing issues with the Server images, but should be fixed soon. It's also an automatic blocker for F30
15:22:23 <jlanda> new podman pushed already
15:22:25 <jlanda> :)
15:22:37 <pwhalen> excellent :)
15:22:48 <pwhalen> #info Network spoke doesn't appear on ARM initial-setup
15:22:48 <pwhalen> #link https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1685992
15:23:49 <pwhalen> this was proposed as a blocker, but accepted as a Freeze Exception. There is a PR to fix it, but apparently it only shows the hostname as an option to configure, no interfaces.
15:24:22 <pwhalen> It was rejected as a blocker because the interface can be configured after first boot
15:24:51 <pwhalen> #info Cannot boot aarch64 image due to host-only initramfs
15:25:00 <pwhalen> #link https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1686326
15:25:28 <jlinton> The GDM blocker bug sounds like a part of it is related to the CanGraphical issue I found
15:25:30 <pwhalen> This should also be fixed.
15:28:10 <pwhalen> jlinton if you can add more info, that would be great
15:28:55 <jlinton> That is what I'm doing, the comment about it appearing late in F29 is what happened to me too
15:29:55 <pwhalen> jlinton, many thanks.
15:30:06 <pwhalen> how goes the battle with firefox?
15:30:17 * jlinton sighs
15:30:23 <pwhalen> yea, sorry
15:30:30 <jlinton> the VM has less address space than the container
15:31:08 <jlinton> I think I need to bring our toolchain guys into it, because its reached the point where I can't seem to pull any defined levers to reduce the memory overhead anymore
15:31:55 <pwhalen> ugh :/
15:33:01 <jlinton> I've still been spending an hour or two here/there fighting with it
15:33:12 <jlinton> but its a time sink
15:33:53 <pwhalen> thanks, appreciate all the effort you've given to it
15:34:17 <jlinton> I guess if we want to start ripping out functionality that might work too
15:36:38 <pwhalen> The F30 Beta release is scheduled for 2019-03-26, so we'll likely move the affected images to something else for now. Buys us some more time to properly fix it
15:37:11 <pbrobinson> i have a generally feeling that gcc9 isn't as good as prior releases on armhfp on memory and stuff, I've seen a few things that have sort of shown that up of late
15:38:25 <pwhalen> :(
15:38:31 <pwhalen> #topic 5)  == Open Floor ==
15:38:51 <pwhalen> Anything for open floor today?
15:39:02 * pwhalen leaves it open for a couple of minutes
15:39:19 <nirik> hey, any news on my fav armv7 bug? ;)
15:40:33 <pcfe> Since I am on vacation this week, until Thursday, I can offer to test on ODROID-HC2 (pretty much an XU4) whatever is necessary, I have 6 of them here and can easily break one out of my Ceph cluster for a few days.
15:40:35 <pcfe> Installing https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1229673 is planned as soon as it hits my updates-testing mirror, I guess that will be tomorrow.
15:41:01 <pwhalen> nirik, I need to try and reproduce the success you have, but sadly nothing but silence from folks I had hoped to hear back from
15:41:15 <pwhalen> s/have/had
15:41:52 <nirik> :(
15:42:00 <pwhalen> pcfe, awesome, thanks for the help
15:42:50 <pcfe> There's also a SoftIron OverDrive 1000 here since a few days, but that seems unhappy hardware wise since I added an SSD and a 4cm fan to lower the chassis temp (disk was between 44 and 56°C). I suspect either cabling or PSU. Unclear how long until I have that properly set up. Worst case I can disconnect the HDD and new fan for now.
