Remember the "too many cooks" situation as always. 17:04:35 too many cooks? I thought it was too many chiefs 17:04:56 * kc8hfi goes back to the corner 17:04:57 One thing that came up this morning was where users should get GNOME Shell extensions from. 17:05:40 isn't there that gnome shell extension website? 17:05:53 https://extensions.gnome.org/ 17:06:51 I am of the opinion they should get them from the Fedora™ repo if they exist, this way they get updates when the package is updated. Others have suggested the gnome.org website. My concern is Fedora™ is a package based distro and we should suggest using rpms when ever possible. Users would have to track updates on gnome.org if they don't use the packages. 17:06:52 i think some of the problems was that the extensions didn't work or something 17:07:07 #link https://extensions.gnome.org/ 17:07:14 talcite: thank you for the link 17:07:31 Any opinions on this? 17:07:45 * nirik agrees with EvilBob. 17:07:52 of course all of them may not be packaged up yet. 17:08:03 The repo is a bit slow to update though. Also, the ones in the repo don't always work either 17:08:08 nirik: there are several in review status again 17:08:40 does anyone know how the extensions.gnome.org site handles updates? 17:08:42 talcite: then in that case bugs should be filed including RFE for a version update. 17:09:15 talcite: some packagers have many many packages and can lose track of updates upstream 17:09:28 ah ok 17:09:48 talcite: I think the gnome site requires you to look for yourself as an end user 17:10:01 Anything else this week or can I move on? 17:10:23 Moving on. 17:10:25 #topic Trac Tickets 17:10:25 #link https://fedorahosted.org/irc-support-sig/report/1 17:10:47 We have no open tickets this week so nothing to cover. I will move on to the Open Floor 17:10:57 #topic Open Floor 17:11:29 If there is nothing for the open floor I will end the meeting in a couple minutes. 17:11:47 just as a note, fedbot went out to lunch while I was away... will try and come up with solutions to prevent that... 17:12:17 I would like to welcome nirik back also DiscordianUK was away for a couple days. 17:12:29 nirik: Yes, fedbot was missed... 17:12:32 ;) 17:12:41 You... not so much. ;) 17:12:46 :) 17:13:05 Yes fedbot was majorly missed 17:13:46 will work out some plans to make it better... hopefully the world didn't end. ;) 17:14:20 nirik: The population of -unregistered was nearly 100 when I cleared it this morning 17:14:34 The thing with fedbot gone is bot-ops can't op 17:14:46 EvilBob, are you not a full op in unreg? 17:14:50 * nirik nods 17:15:06 Sonar_Gal: Yes, that is a concern as is regular ops using the timed ban feature 17:15:21 Sonar_Gal: I might be, it's just easier with fedbot 17:15:26 I don't really use the banned timed 17:15:29 how is fedbot hosted? 17:15:38 it's on my machines here. 17:15:41 Sonar_Gal: we rarely have to ban anyone 17:15:48 It's easier for me to just op, ban then unban in 15 minutes 17:15:56 nirik: i appologize in advance but I wont be able to make today's meeting. 17:15:59 like I said, I will try and work out ways to distribute the config and/or grant other people access to it. 17:16:05 ok 17:16:53 nirik, +1 17:18:24 Anything else? 17:19:03 Closing up... 17:19:06 not that I can think of 17:19:11 #endmeeting
