15:32:39 <bcotton> .hello2
15:32:40 <zodbot> bcotton: bcotton 'Ben Cotton' <bcotton@redhat.com>
15:33:17 <pbokoc> hi bcotton
15:33:28 <bcotton> hello, pbokoc!
15:33:38 <pbokoc> #info It's Release Notes season now; see https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/docs@lists.fedoraproject.org/thread/5RBEWQIBH3I42SXYQ6JQBXNM3ZAK5LHW/ for details
15:35:42 * bcotton needs to go through and close issues for changes that were deferred after approval
15:36:09 <pbokoc> bcotton, oh yeah, that would be nice
15:36:55 <bcotton> i'll do that today
15:43:01 <bcotton> pbokoc: thanks for the info in the release notes thread, btw. my plan shortly after the F29 release is to meet with each team and update schedule elements to reflect the reality of what work is actually done these days
15:43:42 <bcotton> i don't think the docs tasks have changed that much since i was leading the docs team 8-ish years ago :-)
15:43:55 <pbokoc> bcotton, yeah, let's do that
15:44:06 <pbokoc> bcotton, wait, you did? I had no idea
15:44:51 <bcotton> yeah. my first foray into fedora contribution was on the docs team. after i'd been around a while we needed a new lead and i didn't hide fast enough :-)
15:44:58 <pbokoc> the tasks might have not changed a lot but the approach definitely did. I've been active here for something over 5 years and I don't remember us ever observing a freeze deadline
15:45:00 <pbokoc> hahaha
15:45:30 <bcotton> what i mean was the tasks on the schedule haven't changed. but it sounds like reality has diverged a lot :-)
15:45:41 <pbokoc> yeah that's true
15:46:17 <pbokoc> at least we managed to drop the relnotes package from release criteria, that's been a pretty big problem especially after we switched to asciidoc
15:46:49 <bcotton> yeah, relnotes was always a last minute hero effort to get packaged in time :-(
15:54:04 <Southern_Gentlem> and changing the way docs are done every couple of years doesnt help people stay with it either
15:54:39 * bcotton will always have a soft spot for docbook
16:01:26 <pbokoc> oh yeah, I miss docbook too :/ too bad the tooling around it was... less than great
16:01:27 <pbokoc> anyway
16:01:28 <pbokoc> #endmeeting
