16:03:31 <coremodule> Hi jlinton! Happy launch day!
16:04:09 <jlinton> launch day, or upgrade day? Lol
16:06:04 <pboy> .hi
16:06:05 <zodbot> pboy: pboy 'Peter Boy' <pboy@uni-bremen.de>
16:07:04 <coremodule> hi pboy, welcome

16:09:03 <coremodule> There we go, better.
16:10:10 <coremodule> You know what.
16:10:11 <coremodule> Wow.
16:10:19 <coremodule> I started this meeting in the wrong meeting room.

16:11:08 <pboy> #fedora-meeting-2
16:11:57 <coremodule> pboy, Yes it is. Wow. My mistake. Have run so many different meetings that I get confused sometimes.
16:12:09 <coremodule> Well, calendar looks free here, let's continue on.
16:12:44 <coremodule> I know QE team is making some changes based off how F39 went to hopefully find bugs on supported hardware sooner.
16:12:45 <pboy> OK (happened to me with server ,too, once ago)
16:13:02 <coremodule> That's all I have for our new F39 stable, anyone else?
16:13:39 <pboy> My question is, how to start to fix the bug in stable
16:13:47 <pboy> maybe next topic?
16:14:02 <coremodule> pboy, Are you referring to a specific bug?
16:14:32 <pboy> Yes, the LVM bug we discussed on go/no-go meeting
16:14:53 <pboy> #link https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2246871
16:16:27 <pboy> #link https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2247872
16:17:17 <coremodule> #info The bug pboy is referring to prohibits the creation of bootable media from the same edition of Fedora. This has been added to the commonbugs with a workaround found in the following link:
16:17:21 <coremodule> #link https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/fedora-39-server-aarch64-disk-image-is-not-bootable-on-some-boards/94907
16:18:06 <coremodule> pboy, We're a bit short on attendance today, so I think your question would be better suited to the arm list or in-bug, at least at the moment. It's just me, you, and jlinton today.
16:19:01 <pboy> OK, that'as fine for me. I just don't wanted to miss an occasion
16:19:46 <coremodule> Okay, good.
16:20:01 <coremodule> #topic 2) ==== Kernel Status ====
16:20:01 <coremodule> #info F38 kernel-6.5.10-200.fc38
16:20:01 <coremodule> #info https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=2315280
16:20:01 <coremodule> #info F39 kernel-6.5.10-300.fc39
16:20:01 <coremodule> #link https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=2315279
16:20:02 <coremodule> #info Rawhide kernel-6.7.0-0.rc0.20231106gitd2f51b3516da.9.fc40
16:20:03 <coremodule> #link https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=2316452
16:20:15 <coremodule> Anything for kernel status?
16:20:50 <jlinton> I'm solidly convinced there are to many ways to install fedora at this point, after having a bunch of fun with systemd.
16:21:18 <coremodule> jlinton, elaborate, please, lol
16:22:49 <jlinton> In the case of systemd-boot, fixing the "default" install path in anaconda, only gets a small fraction of the methods used to install fedora working, for things like live media because one wouldn't have an image that boots both grub and systemd-boot one ends up with multiple configuration paths and another set of live media just for an alternate bootloader.
16:23:01 <jlinton> And this applies to the ostree images too
16:23:51 <jlinton> and there are these cases like the above where filesystem/etc selections on the host affect whether something works.
16:25:02 <jlinton> And the choice of workstation vs server is more a statement of how one wants to install it at this point then how the final system functions.
16:25:13 <jlinton> AKA I install the server ISO all the time, and then group install workstation.
16:25:21 <coremodule> Ah, I see what you mean.
16:28:43 <coremodule> #info Please test and report any issues to #fedora-arm or the mailing list.
16:28:53 <coremodule> #topic 3) ==== Bootloader Status ====

16:29:01 <coremodule> Bootloaders, anything to mention"
16:29:03 <coremodule> ?
16:30:24 <coremodule> #topic 4) ==== Fedora Rawhide status ===
16:30:24 <coremodule> #info OpenQA Testing Fedora-Rawhide-20231107.n.0
16:30:24 <coremodule> #info https://openqa.fedoraproject.org/tests/overview?distri=fedora&version=Rawhide&build=Fedora-Rawhide-20231107.n.0&groupid=5
16:30:42 <coremodule> It's early on, but rawhide looks OK so far.
16:31:03 <pboy> Well, besides rhe same issues as stable :-)
16:31:49 <jlinton> Well and now that F39 is release presumably the comps change to fix stable->rawhide updates will be merged.
16:33:25 <jlinton> That said the dracut QRTR change was merged so rawhide should be USB bootable on the x13s in the near future (it not already).
16:34:28 <pboy> What is x13s (sorry, I just don't know)
16:34:40 <jlinton> The lenovo/QC arm/windows laptop.
16:35:03 <pboy> Oh, yes intersting. thanks.
16:40:55 <coremodule> #topic 5) ==== Open Floor ====
16:41:00 <coremodule> Sorry, two meetings at once.
16:41:16 <coremodule> I don't have anything else. Others?
16:41:20 <pboy> Here just a short note.
16:42:55 <pboy> I would like to advocate to switch some of the ARM Wiki content to DOCS / Antora pages. The visibility is better, SEO, search engine, etc. Currently ARM is "under represented" and hard to find.
16:48:27 <coremodule> pboy, Can you bring this topic up next week perhaps?
16:48:46 <pboy> Yes, I can.
16:49:03 <jlinton> Next week is plumbers, it might be thing then too.
16:49:15 <coremodule> I think your point has potential, but needs more visibility.
16:49:17 <jlinton> ^thin, few people show up.
16:49:43 <pboy> And I can offer to the writing, but need support and info from the experts.
16:49:54 <coremodule> Yes, probably between now and Jan 1st to be honest... Lots of holidays. We'll postpone the wiki/docs conversation for a new time.
16:50:44 <pboy> OK for me, it's kind of a long term effort.
16:51:26 <coremodule> sure. Thanks for attending both of you. pboy, save that topic, I want to discuss it in the future.
16:51:31 <coremodule> meeting end in 5
