17:36:28 <riecatnor> looks like we have enough +1's, I will comment that it is approved
17:36:29 <tg-fedmindshare> <sumantro93> This is approved I guess
17:36:41 <tg-fedmindshare> <sumantro93> +1
17:37:07 <bt0> +1 too
17:37:35 <riecatnor> https://pagure.io/mindshare/issue/179
17:38:07 <riecatnor> nnothing to do here
17:38:34 <riecatnor> https://pagure.io/mindshare/issue/178
17:38:40 <riecatnor> triaging 178
17:38:51 <nb> Hello!
17:39:33 <riecatnor> hiya nb !
17:39:37 <riecatnor> https://pagure.io/mindshare/issue/176
17:40:14 <bt0> we need tag it as "needs event report"
17:40:22 <riecatnor> bt0 tagged :)
17:40:31 <nb> riecatnor, there's a problem with our former UPS account for NA
17:40:42 <nb> apparently there's an outstanding bill of ~$60 that is in collections
17:41:00 <nb> because it used to be billed to Andrew Ward's community card, but that card was shut off when he resigned
17:41:18 <riecatnor> nb, oh, I see. Do you have some additional info on the account?
17:41:30 <nb> he got a phone call from UPS and told them to call me, but i don't intend to pay it
17:41:48 <nb> riecatnor, so yeah, it needs someone to call UPS to pay, since now it doesn't show up on the website since they sent it to their collections people
17:41:53 <nb> riecatnor, i'll pm you in a bit
17:41:57 <nb> with contact info
17:41:59 <riecatnor> Ok, sounds good
17:42:04 <riecatnor> I will deal with it
17:42:12 <bt0> cool
17:43:04 <riecatnor> Back to ticket 176. I think this is blocking on myself and Sumantro, both of us have been traveling for two weeks
17:43:50 <tg-fedmindshare> <sumantro93> Yes and I think I will end it by tomorrow at least a draft
17:44:34 <bt0> awesome
17:44:46 <riecatnor> To be upfront, probably won't get to this until next week. I am taking some time to rest after my travels
17:45:15 <riecatnor> https://pagure.io/mindshare/issue/169
17:46:22 <riecatnor> The request for swag seems good to me.. the request for ribbons is the lanyard printed with Fedora on it correct?
17:46:38 <nb> no, ribbons to go below the badge i believe
17:46:52 <nb> stuff like https://www.namebadgeproductions.com/product/4646/3-stick-n-stack-horizontal-ribbons?gclid=Cj0KCQiA7OnxBRCNARIsAIW53B95bmt4FpJMF1zn1o-ATGIqlk2wv1E6Zjmf6ylp4beFfIsCfUqjay0aAtXTEALw_wcB
17:47:07 <nb> but it's hard to get a good one made with Fedora, since most I've seen are 1-color
17:47:15 <nb> but we could do ribbons with the Fedora wordmark I suppose
17:48:24 <riecatnor> Ahhh, I see. Ok, that is doable. Not sure how the design aspect will work out, but I am +1 to this. This seems to be a somewhat common request, so I will get extras printed as well. How does that sound to everyone?
17:48:36 <nb> +1
17:48:43 <bt0> yes, but doing new swag with the current logo don't sounds good...just one shot particular event ribbon is fine
17:48:55 <nb> bt0, we have no date currently for new logo
17:49:04 <nb> so I think we should keep going with the present logo
17:49:06 <bt0> :(
17:49:09 <riecatnor> bt0 as much as we all want the new logo, it will take some time for it to be usable
17:49:13 <bt0> ok, +1
17:49:17 <tg-fedmindshare> <louzaoh> +1
17:49:20 <riecatnor> it is still in some development, afaik
17:49:39 <tg-fedmindshare> <louzaoh> any date for the new logo or is open?
17:49:48 <riecatnor> Plus, I know the swag will not go to waste
17:49:57 <riecatnor> Still open at this time
17:50:03 <nb> @louzaoh it's waiting on Legal
17:50:08 <nb> from the last thing I saw
17:50:24 <tg-fedmindshare> <louzaoh> ohh thx
17:52:20 <riecatnor> https://pagure.io/mindshare/issue/166
17:52:30 <riecatnor> triaging 166 to needs event report
17:53:14 <riecatnor> https://pagure.io/mindshare/issue/165
17:53:22 <riecatnor> triaging 165 to needs event report
17:53:55 <riecatnor> and, we are all caught up on tickets for now :)
17:54:06 <bt0> :)
17:54:18 <tg-fedmindshare> <louzaoh> nice :)
17:54:19 <riecatnor> Open floor for discussion
17:57:05 <riecatnor> I have something to bring up. Currently there are no term limits or policies regarding membership on the Mindshare committee. I think this is something we need to address
17:59:54 <riecatnor> I believe we need to establish some guidelines for teams to readdress their representatives, and choose someone new. This is useful to get new perspective, to give some folks a break from the responsibility and lets them focus on other things. Also allows for those folks who are not so active to step down and let others who are more available have a voice.
18:00:32 * nb doesn't think term limits are good
18:00:38 <nb> no other area of Fedora has them
18:00:58 <nb> new perspective is good, but continuity and experience are also good
18:01:27 * nb wonders if it would be good to make more elected representatives and less team seats, since we've had difficulty in the past filling some of the team seats
18:02:17 <riecatnor> I guess there is some subtle difference between term limits and election.. I don't mean people couldn't stay if it is a good fit, I more meant, if it is not working we need to give other folks a shot
18:02:22 <nb> oh ok
18:02:39 <riecatnor> You are right tho, term limit is not the right phrase :)
18:03:31 <tg-fedmindshare> <sumantro93> I concur
18:03:32 <riecatnor> the council does it like this: Elections are held twice a year, in concert with the joint Fedora election cycle. One seat is selected at each election, and each position has a two-election (approximately one year) term.
18:05:42 <riecatnor> Do we feel that policy would also work for Mindshare? Or does it need adjustment?
18:06:23 <nb> isn't that how the elected seats already are?
18:06:27 <tg-fedmindshare> <sumantro93> I think nb was also inclined towards elections, am I right m
18:07:43 <tg-fedmindshare> <sumantro93> That's 2 only but there are folks who haven't showed up in meetings for sometime and we need to re establish contact and context with them ..
18:07:54 <nb> oh ok
18:08:52 * nb knows relrod is going to be having some changes in his job and not sure if he is interested in continuing to be on mindshare
18:09:02 <tg-fedmindshare> <sumantro93> So I guess it's okay to say, that we might need to ask the mindshare to express individual interest in being a part of the team or we can re elect someone there .. maybe ? Wdyt?
18:09:08 <nb> and not sure about bex as docs representative since he is not fcaic
18:09:28 <relrod_cld> nb: I plan to stay on mindshare yes
18:09:33 <nb> relrod_cld, ok
18:09:44 <riecatnor> also, if there is a policy surrounding re-election for mindshare, I don't see it on the docs page unless I am going blind
18:09:56 <nb> @sumantro93 I think it is definitely a good idea
18:10:05 <nb> to ask people if they are still interested
18:10:08 <riecatnor> or crazy lol. two weeks of travel making me a little loopy
18:10:36 <nb> riecatnor, you are right, it appears we don't have a policy on the docs page WRT the elected seats
18:10:47 <nb> but there has been elections following the same format as the council
18:11:02 <nb> so we are doing it, it just hasn't been written up on the site
18:11:08 <riecatnor> Ok, got it.
18:11:24 <riecatnor> What about those that say that they want to stay involved but don't show up to meetings or give input
18:11:33 <nb> the team seats have been left up to the teams to decide their process. I think commops does have some sort of regular re-appointment process
18:11:43 <nb> riecatnor, good question
18:12:07 <tg-fedmindshare> <louzaoh> agree with this, we need commiment
18:12:08 <riecatnor> what do we accept as an acceptable amount of activity
18:12:44 * nb needs to increase his activity
18:14:20 <riecatnor> I think I will open a ticket on Mindshare to outline the tasks and things to be discussed
18:14:51 <tg-fedmindshare> <sumantro93> That will be great
18:14:57 <tg-fedmindshare> <louzaoh> +1
18:15:17 <riecatnor> I would ask that you all take some time to think over the topic and provide some feedback there
18:15:42 <tg-fedmindshare> <louzaoh> 🆗
18:16:04 <riecatnor> After we have a chance to get our feedback out, do you think we should take the conversation to a more public platform? For example, the community blog?
18:16:46 <tg-fedmindshare> <louzaoh> or discusion.fp.o?
18:17:01 * nb thinks a mailing list is better
18:17:04 <tg-fedmindshare> <sumantro93> Yes the blog and the relevant MLs
18:17:06 <nb> comm blog or mailing list
18:17:16 * nb is -1 to discussion.fpo, it's just one more place that peoplke have to check
18:17:20 <riecatnor> which mailing lists do we feel are relevant
18:18:58 <nb> ambassadors and mindshare i guess?
18:19:12 <riecatnor> commops
18:19:19 <tg-fedmindshare> <sumantro93> All the teams which represent at mindshare
18:19:25 <tg-fedmindshare> <sumantro93> Are the relevant once
18:19:27 <riecatnor> good point sumantro93
18:19:31 <tg-fedmindshare> <louzaoh> Also fedor join sig , there are doing a great jobs capturing newcomers
18:20:56 <riecatnor> louzaoh, agreed
18:21:34 <tg-fedmindshare> <louzaoh> great :)
18:22:22 <riecatnor> Ok, I am writing up the ticket now
18:22:42 <riecatnor> Looking forward to more detailed feedback from everyone :)
18:23:16 * nb would like to discuss 145
18:23:21 <nb> since we have several people here
18:23:29 <riecatnor> nb, ok please send link
18:23:34 <nb> https://pagure.io/mindshare/issue/145
18:24:13 <nb> So, I'm really conflicted about this ticket.
18:24:42 <nb> On one hand, I think, what's the point of ambassadors anymore, we have the "advocates process"
18:25:00 <nb> I think we are on the right track of making it simpler to get funding
18:25:37 <nb> I think a lot of it is the communication
18:26:11 <riecatnor> This ticket is very long, and I would like to read it carefully before giving too much feedback. For those who are familiar, please feel free of course :)
18:26:21 <nb> I don't want to totally throw the ambassadors program out the window, so to speak
18:26:37 <nb> but yet, what is the relevance anymore, since you don't have to be an ambassador to hold an event
18:27:45 <riecatnor> Without having a full depth of knowledge I would say that dissolving ambassadors will cause some backlash and potential conflict
18:28:00 <riecatnor> without even**
18:28:21 <nb> I like bex's proposal
18:28:22 <nb> Proposed: Ambassadors is being worked on by folks passionate about it. We will close our ambassador tickets and give those folks space to rebuild/re-energize the program. Mindshare will continue to approve resource requests and make decisions where asked. This will look like the following: a) We will eliminate the use of ambassador and advocate language in our policies so that we don't create artificial conflict. We administer resources
18:28:22 <nb> and connect teams. We don't run advocacy; b) We will retire one ambasssador seat on Mindshare effective with the F31 release. By the F32 release we need a new process proposed for electing the remaining ambassador seat, otherwise it will be replaced.
18:29:43 <nb> which seems about what we have done, except i dont think we have ever voted on that
18:30:07 <nb> the whole "advocates" title never really took off, so eliminating it won't hurt
18:30:32 <riecatnor> I am curious who in ambassadors is working on it
18:31:40 * nb intends to work on it but has not done so yet
18:32:00 <nb> and i think tatica, steelaworkn, and several others have expressed interest
18:32:04 <riecatnor> I am being called into another meeting
18:32:06 <nb> we really need someone to drive the project
18:32:22 <nb> riecatnor, ok, we can bring it up other time
18:32:25 <riecatnor> Did bex put that proposal in ticket 145
18:32:29 <nb> riecatnor, yes, he did
18:32:41 <riecatnor> Ok, I will take some time to review. I would ask that others do as well
18:32:59 <riecatnor> We can revisit next week :)
18:35:03 <riecatnor> Thanks everybody!
18:35:07 <riecatnor> I am going to end the meeting for today
