Are we ok on this meeting channel? Or should I go back to the normal meeting channel, since it looks like nobody is there?
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:05:30
I'll give it another minute, and if there aren't any objections, I'll have it here.

19:08:46
So, I have created both GNOME and MIN Live images for CS10. I have not published them, but they are in the testing area.
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:09:33
https://buildlogs.centos.org/10-stream/altimages/images/live/
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:10:05
I have also created WSL images for CentOS Stream 10, they are in the same testing area, just a different directory

Robby Callicotte (rcallicotte) - he / him / his
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:10:31
Hi Robby Callicotte
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:11:13
I don't plan on releasing CS10 images until after CS10 itself is released.
<@rcallicotte:fedora.im>
19:11:38
Ok. That was exactly the question I had! Lol
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:12:12
After CS10 is released, I'll create new images with the latest stuff, and release those.
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:13:01
But I have tested the images that are there in -testing, and they all work good, so if people want to use them, they can.
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:14:00
Moving on to the next issue
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:14:06
!link https://pagure.io/centos-sig-alt-images/sig/issue/4
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:14:39
I did give this a try, unsuccessfully.
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:15:23
One of the problems I had was all the examples I looked at were using btrfs, and we have to use xfs/ext4.
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:15:48
Or, maybe I wasn't doing grub right ... I'm not really sure.
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:16:17
Either way, the images wouldn't boot because they couldn't find their root filesystem.
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:17:03
So, if someone wants to give this a try, I won't stand in their way.
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:17:31
And if nobody does, then I'm going to be asking on the channels for helps and hints.
<@tdawson:fedora.im>

I haven't touched this one since last meeting, so I don't have anything new to say about it.
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:19:47
That's all of the open issues we have.

<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:24:40
I should have waited and asked if anyone wanted to. I just got carried away in documenting things. :)
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:25:31
Do we have any other news that happened in the past month?

!topic Whats Next
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:27:07
We've already mentioned it, but we plan on releasing our CentOS Stream 10 based images after CentOS Stream 10 is officially released.
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:28:32
For the other two open issues, I think I'm going to concentrate on the RAW images. I feel like I'm just missing a line or two someplace and need to track it down.
<@rcallicotte:fedora.im>
19:29:22
I can take a look into the persistent media issue
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:30:28
That would be great. It's very possible that I just had something off by a bit, or maybe very much.
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:30:56
I also wonder if it will work on CentOS Stream 9, or if it needs CentOS Stream 10.

!topic Open Floor
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:32:35
I think the only thing I had for Open Floor was to ask if we are ok moving to Meeting 1 permanently?
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:32:50
If we are, I can/should update our documentation.
<@rcallicotte:fedora.im>
19:33:00
I'm fine with that
<@rcallicotte:fedora.im>
19:33:21
+1
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:33:59
We don't have enough to make it a majority ... but we're the two that consistently are here ... so ... passed. :)
<@rcallicotte:fedora.im>
19:34:32
:)
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:34:32
Plus, I think the meeting that conflicts with this seems to be fairly important.

Davide Cavalca (dcavalca) - he / him / his
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:34:55
But it doesn't seem to happen each month ... so I don't know what's up with that.
<@davide:cavalca.name>
19:35:02
sorry, this ended up overlapping with something else
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:35:05
Hi Davide Cavalca
<@davide:cavalca.name>
19:35:06
I'm also +1 fwiw
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:35:20
Thanks.
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:35:59
Davide Cavalca: Did you have anything you wanted to ask and/or talk about?
<@davide:cavalca.name>
19:36:20
nothing pressing
<@davide:cavalca.name>
19:36:39
I have been toying around with getting the supporting software needed for Apple Silicon Macs build for c10s
<@davide:cavalca.name>
19:36:52
so when that's ready we'll have to figure out where to build and host installer images
<@davide:cavalca.name>
19:36:57
but nothing usable yet on that front
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:37:15
That would be very cool to have.
<@davide:cavalca.name>
19:37:23
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/dcavalca/asahi-centos-stream/ fyi
<@davide:cavalca.name>
19:38:03
this is mostly blocked on a few missing things in EPEL, and on finding the time to work with Conan Kudo and get a proper kernel branch up
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:38:49
Do you think if ya'll get that in place, we'd be able to utilize it to create rpi images as well?
<@davide:cavalca.name>
19:39:22
not really, unfortunately the provisioning infrastructure for these macs is very bespoke
<@rcallicotte:fedora.im>
19:39:27
I thought rpi required some special uboot
<@davide:cavalca.name>
19:39:48
you should however benefit from a lot of the userspace work, things like the x86 emulation should work on other aarch64 systems too
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:39:49
Ya, I think it does, which is why I was wondering if it's the same uboot ... but sounds like it isn't.
<@davide:cavalca.name>
19:40:02
yeah, it's not the same uboot unfortunately
<@davide:cavalca.name>
19:40:27
I actually have a bunch of uboot packaging improvements on my list, but we'll see if/when I get to that
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:40:49
That would be nice.
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:41:24
It's one of our more frequent questions, getting it on the rpi ... but ... oh well.
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:42:08
Most people are happy to use Fedora, so it's not usually a big deal.
<@davide:cavalca.name>
19:42:22
I think Alma has a rpi build
<@davide:cavalca.name>
19:42:40
maybe we can work with them on getting it integrated upstream
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:42:56
That would be nice.
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:43:44
Do we have anything else before we call it a meeting?
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:44:35
Thank ya'll for coming.
<@tdawson:fedora.im>
19:44:53
I'll talk to ya next month here ... and on our regular channel until then.
