No Fedora Accounts users have the @jcapitao:matrix.org Matrix Account defined
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:09:10
I should link my account
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:11:01
ah I guess I need to register myself on fedora.im
<@spotz:matrix.org>
15:11:05
When you figure out how let me know:)
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:11:12
will do that later

(I'll join next meeting with my fedora.im account ^)
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:16:06
so we have only one topic for today
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:16:50
!topic RDO update
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:17:09
let's start with RDO news
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:18:09
RDO plans to release Epoxy on CS10, but we are currently hitting issues in upstream OpenStack on getting CS10 as a supported OS
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:19:09
we are trying to figure out a solution but this might delay RDO Epoxy on CS10 GA
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:20:06
so there are chances that we'll issue Epoxy on CS9 in the meantime
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:20:36
and we'd like help from the community to maintain it :)
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:23:18
I'll let you know on #rdo (OFTC) when we'll start branching cs9-epoxy
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:24:45
FYI the problem we have in upstream OpenStack is that CS10 is compiled with x86_64 v3 as minimal microarch baselayer
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:25:25
and not all the cloud provider of OpenInfra provides hardware supporting it
<@spotz:matrix.org>
15:25:54
And only a few of our providers can accomidate that but notwith a consistency of only going to that hardware
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:28:19
that's it for RDO update
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:28:32
do we have OKD folks here ?
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
15:29:30
fwiw, I'm interested in solving the x86-v3 in openinfra as well--for both cs10 and rocky 10 in the OpenStack-Ansible service project (which typically provides an RDO (distro) install method in addition to from-source)
<@spotz:matrix.org>
15:31:10
There's definitely a number of moving pieces and efforts to try to get this resolved
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:32:05
yeah
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:32:38
Neil Hanlon: is rocky 10 compiled with v3 as well ?
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
15:33:44
yeah
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
15:34:54
It is definitely a complex problem to solve
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:36:05
yep
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:36:25
we first need to update glean to support NetworkManager keyfiles
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
15:37:09
ah.. yeah that makes sense
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:37:22
the DIB patch is here https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/diskimage-builder/+/934045
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
15:38:32
cool, will take a look at that one 🙂 I have some not-upstreamed things to yum-minimal and friends that I need to make Changes for
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:39:00
more info https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RDO-443
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
15:39:29
I also need to rebase https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/diskimage-builder/+/884451 (mostly saying so I will remember 😉 )
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:39:35
Neil Hanlon: great
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:41:25
ah you are also targeting aarch64
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
15:43:24
I did have a question on the best next steps for https://review.rdoproject.org/r/c/deps/python-responses/+/56072 -- as we were discussing last week about pytest on oftc.. I got a bit lost on what change i need to make...
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
15:43:55
yeah, one of the OSA cores asked me for a DIB image w/ the 64k page kernel
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:45:54
we should add the missing dependencies in RDO
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:46:43
currently we are consuming pytest from CentOS repos IIRC, so we have to override it with our pytest
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
15:46:53
Right.. now I'm re-reading the docs.. I need to clone gating_scripts and run setup_distgit ?
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:47:05
exactly
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
15:47:31
awesome 🙂 I can do that. I kept going to ask on IRC for a few days and kept getting sidetracked..
<@spotz:matrix.org>
15:49:39
And Neil and I are both OSA cores too
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
15:50:15
/me is honored to not have been kicked out for inactivity lately 😅
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:50:57
a Stacker remains a Stacker ;)
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:51:36
so we don't have our OKD friends here
<@spotz:matrix.org>
15:52:01
No and considering they were asking in channel where I'm surprised but time zones and work
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:52:50
I know there is some ongoing effort to distribute OKD artifacts on CentOS Infra but don't know the ETA
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:53:06
maybe it will be announced next month
<@spotz:matrix.org>
15:54:10
I know SCOS folks are working on it
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:55:29
ok
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:55:34
we'll see in next meeting
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:55:45
there is no other topics for today
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:56:31
is there any questions before I close the meeting ?
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
15:57:06
Is there any formal membership process for the SIG? Should I just add myself to the docs?
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:59:04
what is your account ID ?
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
15:59:20
`neil`
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
15:59:26
there is no formal membership process
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
16:00:01
roger that, given it's w/ Gerrit, it's easy enough to submit changes and such, so I figured as much
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
16:00:14
I added your ID to the SIG https://accounts.centos.org/group/sig-cloud/
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
16:00:23
i enjoy not necessarily needing to touch `centpkg` 🙂
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
16:00:42
you can add yourself to the doc also
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
16:01:03
https://pagure.io/centos-sig-cloud/documentation
<@jcapitao:matrix.org>
16:01:08
closing the meeitng
