How's everyone doing today, it's mondayy!
<@smilner:fedora.im>
16:03:01
Not bad ... tired. How about y'all?
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:03:05
I'm baking some lasagna to lessen the pain.

16:03:27
morning
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:03:49
so many people, let's start :3
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:03:56
!topic Init process.
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:04:02
Do we have anything for the init? Any blockers/tasks/issues/requests/features that need releng intervention?
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:04:35
For this I wanted to bring up some tickets apart from the mass branching status that it was completed
<@farchord:fedora.im>
16:04:41
Classic lasagna? i.e. ground beef, cheese, tomato sauce?
<@farchord:fedora.im>
16:04:47
Sorry didnt mean to derail.
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:05:02
haha we want to knowww as welllll
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:06:10
Yeah, meat sauce, bechamel, topped with shredded parmesan.
<@farchord:fedora.im>
16:06:41
Maaan, that's gonna be good...
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:06:44
you are making me hungry. ;)
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:06:44
Hey
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:06:56
lmao
<@farchord:fedora.im>
16:07:12
Now I gotta last another hour or so
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:07:23
For the starting, just a headsup, from my conversation from the epel folks, they will be trying to do a epel mass rbanching on staging today, and for the questions etc, they will be discussing things on releng channel - they opened a ticket to have everything synced, from which koji is done and bodhi will be done today
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>

<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:11:11
I didnt see any such changes in pungi that would directly affect this
<@smilner:fedora.im>
16:13:03
Could it be a change in rpm-ostree or a missing commit, etc?
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:13:37
well, the problem is a bit unclear to me... is it that the file is actually missing and should be there? or that ostree is looking for the wrong file? or ?
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:14:20
The former
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:14:31
Last time it happened it was before the mass branching looks like. The linked, older issue is from August 2 and the schedule for f41 shows mass branching was on August 13.
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:14:52
I.e. it wasn't caused by mass branching last time, maybe.
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:15:01
yep
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:15:15
it is nothing to do with branching from my opinion
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:15:28
it has nothing to do with branching from my opinion
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:16:52
So, do we know if this file once existed? we could look for it in snapshots I suppose, but that doesn't explain why it would have been removed.
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:17:53
I wanted to ask one thing, while I was debugging about the repo, I wanted to run ostree fsck to check it's consistency/integrity; but what would be the right place to run it?
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:18:11
yes and yes
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:19:09
one of the koji hubs I suppose...
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:19:29
doesn't seem like it has a 'dry-run' option, which makes me nervous
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:20:08
yeah that's why i wanted to make sure before jumping right at it
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:21:30
okay we can continue this in the later section of open floor
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:21:34
anything else for init?
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:22:56
- let's do a retro on a call preferaably google meets to capture thoughts concerns etc
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:22:56
Just one quick thing in regards for mass branching retro, I had two thing in minds
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:22:56
- or let's do in the next call here as a seprate topic
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:23:00
Any preferences?
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:23:12
VOTE A || B
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:23:17
B
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:23:28
B I think is better...
<@amedvede:fedora.im>
16:24:05
for me A, but we can talk about it in our 1:1
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:24:12
reminds me. I found another thing for the retro doc... we need to set 'noarch_arches' on the newly branched fN-build tag. Should be added to the script that creates the koji tags, etc.
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:24:41
I'll add to that
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:25:12
thanks!
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:25:35
so B wins with 2/3 votes, I'll add a seprate topic for retro next week then, I'm capturing most of the things in one place, and making sure to get the updated docs before that, okay then let's move on
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:26:13
it's great to do this while it's all still fresh.
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:26:25

<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:26:41
you mean now? or next week is okay?
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:27:10
I just wanted to prepare a quick retro board before I do it, with possible action items and quick fixes
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:28:39
next week is fine, I just meant not waiting months until we forget why something was added. ;)
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:28:58

<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:30:27
sheesh... already?
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:30:52
Does the freeze have to be approved by FESCo?
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:30:56
hahahaha time is running? No! it's flying!!!!
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
16:31:29
nope, it's part of the schedule... it's already set
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:31:54
Beta releases are the one which fesco put there stamp along with QA folks, after considering all the changes etc but nothing to do with freeze it's already decided and fixed
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:32:07
until unless there is a big shift in the process
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:32:19
Only release go/no go meetings need approval? All else is part of the schedule?
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
16:32:20
by beta releases i mean selecting rcs etc
<@patrikp:matrix.org>
16:33:24
The meetings themselves don't need approval, I meant that the decision is given in the meeting. GO/NOGO
<@jnsamyak:matrix.org>
