No

17:10:25
nope
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:10:54
Well, shouldn't we delay top 2 / Ansible NFS , Maybe John is a bit late.
<@aggraxis:fedora.im>
17:11:18
I have stuff for the image size issue if you want to switch to that.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:11:31
OK!
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:12:02
!topic 3. Bug: Fedora 42: Server boot aarch64 image exceeds maximum size
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:12:12
no tracking issue yet
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:12:23
<@aggraxis:fedora.im>
17:13:04
I attended the blocker meeting on Monday and read their take on the issue. It looks like they found some stuff to shrink the image a little bit, but it's still just a hair over the previous limit. I told them that we had discussed the issue here last week and were amenable to increasing the limit to 1.2 GiB, but we needed to look into how.
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:13:31
I don't think anyone of us has commented on the bug...
<@aggraxis:fedora.im>
17:13:49
adamw Told me how that's done, and I had posted the details over in #server:fedoraproject.org . In short, we need to make a PR or open a ticket on their repo and tag adamw on it so he can go change the build artiface.
<@aggraxis:fedora.im>
17:14:09
(sorry for the ding! :P)
<@aggraxis:fedora.im>

<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:14:30
"If you believe the canonical maximum size for an image should be changed, please follow the appropriate process before filing a relval bug."
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:14:56
admitingly, that doesn't help a lot...
<@aggraxis:fedora.im>
17:15:28
Yeah, he told me how to do that, which I posted in this message: https://matrix.to/#/!VlRwyoXorQwBfFsvhH:matrix.org/$jmvZiDs_jcrghk3Mm2hrn35TemPVRFNqieOvHfZVPeQ?via=fedoraproject.org&via=fedora.im&via=matrix.org
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:16:00
Paul Maconi (Aggraxis): What should the PR be about? An exception for f42 or a general increase?
<@aggraxis:fedora.im>
17:16:18
I believe it's a general increase.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:16:21
Sorry, I missed your post in server
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:16:29
yes, so did I
<@aggraxis:fedora.im>
17:16:53
It's OK. It happened that I was able to pay attention for today's meeting, so I wanted to be sure to let you guys know I went to the other meeting and brought that info back.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:17:21
Paul Maconi (Aggraxis): ++1
<@zodbot:fedora.im>
17:17:23
pboy gave a cookie to aggraxis. They now have 8 cookies, 2 of which were obtained in the Fedora 41 release cycle
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:18:43
Well, could one of you take care on the PR? I think, we should limit it to the aarch64 image due to the technical specifics of that architecture. We have no issue with x86_64 (at least yet).
<@aggraxis:fedora.im>
17:19:18
I think I can handle it today after work.
<@aggraxis:fedora.im>
17:19:29
(or when I get my next big break)
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:20:03
!action Paul Maconi (Aggraxis) will take care or the PR regarding the size change for aarch64 architecture.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:20:20
Paul Maconi (Aggraxis): Thanks a lot!
<@aggraxis:fedora.im>
17:20:26
Anytime!
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:20:44
OK, next topic.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:20:56
!topic 4. Status /progress Beta Testing
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:21:25
I did the testing of DVD, Netboot and VM image instance.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:22:34
The netboot is a bit unpleasant. The default value for the source is wrong and it takes a long time until the summary page is ready for furtgher action.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:22:55
The netboot is a bit unpleasant. The default value for the source is wrong and it takes a long time until the summary page is ready for further action.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:23:31
The VM image is missing the correct LVM devices file. That's quite bad. Hopefully we can fix it for release.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:24:23
And worst: remote interactive installation doesn't work anymore with the kickstart file.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:24:44
That's in short about my experiences.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:25:22
Any other test results so far?
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:26:13
I didn't get a chance to test more last weekend.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:27:30
OK. So far, it looks OK for me. I don't expect any big surprises.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:28:01
Well, than lets go on to next topic.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:28:17
!topic 5. OpenSSL engines (new)
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:28:33
At the moment I'm lost here.
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:29:13
today, Fesco decided to reject the change
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:29:45
so OpenSSL Engine should not be dropped before the OpenSSL devs drop it
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:30:05
That sounds good to me!
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:30:52
and that's pretty much it
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:31:30
OK. This reminds me of the change in Cockpit to abandon self-signed certificates. Is there something new?
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:31:53
I don't think so
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:32:26
Oh, I see now that I should contact the team about this. Oh dear.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:32:57
I'll get right on it tomorrow.
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:33:30
Support for web service worker will not happen : https://github.com/cockpit-project/cockpit/discussions/21695
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:33:46
so we can keep our self-signed certs
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:34:35
OK, so there is nothing to do for me? And nothing is lost yet?
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:35:30
Well, let's come back to topic 1
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:35:31
nope
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:35:46
!topic 2 Ansible assisted installation and configuration of NFS service
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:35:57
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:36:10
We still are missing John.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:36:42
Regarding me, I was busy to optimize my NFS test environment. So nothing new from me.
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:36:55
same
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:37:09
But everything is setup now, so I can start as soon as I finish the beta tests.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:37:32
OK, so we can proceed.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:37:51
!topic 6. Open Floor
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:38:27
We have a lot of time left for this. We had that never before, as far as I remember.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:39:16
Well, we are open for everybody !!!! Any coment, question, remark, ....
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:40:32
FTR, I am testing several of Robert de Bock's Ansible roles before packaging them in rpms and submitting them to Fedora
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:41:32
That sounds good. I had a look into those, too. They seem to me a bit more focused on the task at hand, then other collections.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:43:13
I suppose, we can reuase a lot of them. Although I don't know how to accomplish that. Until now I'm missing a kind of library to link to.
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:43:26

<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:44:05
there's a collection that gives you all the roles but it hasn't been updated in a while
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:44:19
I'm going to package them individually
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:45:07
Well, I think we should discuss the details as soon as we have positive testing of our model case (NFS).
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:45:41
I suppose, we are done now? We have the rare case of finishing early instead of running overdue. :-)
<@eseyman:fedora.im>
17:46:05
yes
<@pboy:fedora.im>
17:46:23
OK, so bye bye! And thanks for comming.
