It looks like they found some stuff to shrink the image a little bit, but it's still just a hair over the previous limit. I told them that we had discussed the issue here last week and were amenable to increasing the limit to 1.2 GiB, but we needed to look into how. 2025-04-02 17:13:31 <@eseyman:fedora.im> I don't think anyone of us has commented on the bug... 2025-04-02 17:13:49 <@aggraxis:fedora.im> adamw Told me how that's done, and I had posted the details over in #server:fedoraproject.org . In short, we need to make a PR or open a ticket on their repo and tag adamw on it so he can go change the build artiface. 2025-04-02 17:14:09 <@aggraxis:fedora.im> (sorry for the ding! :P) 2025-04-02 17:14:20 <@aggraxis:fedora.im> adamw Told me how that's done, and I had posted the details over in #server:fedoraproject.org . An exception for f42 or a general increase? 2025-04-02 17:16:18 <@aggraxis:fedora.im> I believe it's a general increase. 2025-04-02 17:16:21 <@pboy:fedora.im> Sorry, I missed your post in server 2025-04-02 17:16:29 <@eseyman:fedora.im> yes, so did I 2025-04-02 17:16:53 <@aggraxis:fedora.im> It's OK. It happened that I was able to pay attention for today's meeting, so I wanted to be sure to let you guys know I went to the other meeting and brought that info back. 2025-04-02 17:17:21 <@pboy:fedora.im> Paul Maconi (Aggraxis): ++1 2025-04-02 17:17:23 <@zodbot:fedora.im> pboy gave a cookie to aggraxis. They now have 8 cookies, 2 of which were obtained in the Fedora 41 release cycle 2025-04-02 17:18:43 <@pboy:fedora.im> Well, could one of you take care on the PR? I think, we should limit it to the aarch64 image due to the technical specifics of that architecture. We have no issue with x86_64 (at least yet). 2025-04-02 17:19:18 <@aggraxis:fedora.im> I think I can handle it today after work. 2025-04-02 17:19:29 <@aggraxis:fedora.im> (or when I get my next big break) 2025-04-02 17:20:03 <@pboy:fedora.im> !action Paul Maconi (Aggraxis) will take care or the PR regarding the size change for aarch64 architecture. 2025-04-02 17:20:20 <@pboy:fedora.im> Paul Maconi (Aggraxis): Thanks a lot! 2025-04-02 17:20:26 <@aggraxis:fedora.im> Anytime! 2025-04-02 17:20:44 <@pboy:fedora.im> OK, next topic. 2025-04-02 17:20:56 <@pboy:fedora.im> !topic 4. Status /progress Beta Testing 2025-04-02 17:21:25 <@pboy:fedora.im> I did the testing of DVD, Netboot and VM image instance. 2025-04-02 17:22:34 <@pboy:fedora.im> The netboot is a bit unpleasant. The default value for the source is wrong and it takes a long time until the summary page is ready for furtgher action. 2025-04-02 17:22:55 <@pboy:fedora.im> The netboot is a bit unpleasant. The default value for the source is wrong and it takes a long time until the summary page is ready for further action. 2025-04-02 17:23:31 <@pboy:fedora.im> The VM image is missing the correct LVM devices file. That's quite bad. Hopefully we can fix it for release. 2025-04-02 17:24:23 <@pboy:fedora.im> And worst: remote interactive installation doesn't work anymore with the kickstart file. 2025-04-02 17:24:44 <@pboy:fedora.im> That's in short about my experiences. 2025-04-02 17:25:22 <@pboy:fedora.im> Any other test results so far? 2025-04-02 17:26:13 <@eseyman:fedora.im> I didn't get a chance to test more last weekend. 2025-04-02 17:27:30 <@pboy:fedora.im> OK. So far, it looks OK for me. I don't expect any big surprises. 2025-04-02 17:28:01 <@pboy:fedora.im> Well, than lets go on to next topic. 2025-04-02 17:28:17 <@pboy:fedora.im> !topic 5. OpenSSL engines (new) 2025-04-02 17:28:33 <@pboy:fedora.im> At the moment I'm lost here. 2025-04-02 17:29:13 <@eseyman:fedora.im> today, Fesco decided to reject the change 2025-04-02 17:29:45 <@eseyman:fedora.im> so OpenSSL Engine should not be dropped before the OpenSSL devs drop it 2025-04-02 17:30:05 <@pboy:fedora.im> That sounds good to me! 2025-04-02 17:30:52 <@eseyman:fedora.im> and that's pretty much it 2025-04-02 17:31:30 <@pboy:fedora.im> OK. This reminds me of the change in Cockpit to abandon self-signed certificates. Is there something new? 2025-04-02 17:31:53 <@eseyman:fedora.im> I don't think so 2025-04-02 17:32:26 <@pboy:fedora.im> Oh, I see now that I should contact the team about this. Oh dear. 2025-04-02 17:32:57 <@pboy:fedora.im> I'll get right on it tomorrow. 2025-04-02 17:33:30 <@eseyman:fedora.im> Support for web service worker will not happen : https://github.com/cockpit-project/cockpit/discussions/21695 2025-04-02 17:33:46 <@eseyman:fedora.im> so we can keep our self-signed certs 2025-04-02 17:34:35 <@pboy:fedora.im> OK, so there is nothing to do for me? And nothing is lost yet? 2025-04-02 17:35:30 <@pboy:fedora.im> Well, let's come back to topic 1 2025-04-02 17:35:31 <@eseyman:fedora.im> nope 2025-04-02 17:35:46 <@pboy:fedora.im> !topic 2 Ansible assisted installation and configuration of NFS service 2025-04-02 17:35:57 <@pboy:fedora.im> !link https://pagure.io/fedora-server/issue/138 2025-04-02 17:36:10 <@pboy:fedora.im> We still are missing John. 2025-04-02 17:36:42 <@pboy:fedora.im> Regarding me, I was busy to optimize my NFS test environment. Any coment, question, remark, .... 2025-04-02 17:40:32 <@eseyman:fedora.im> FTR, I am testing several of Robert de Bock's Ansible roles before packaging them in rpms and submitting them to Fedora 2025-04-02 17:41:32 <@pboy:fedora.im> That sounds good. I had a look into those, too. They seem to me a bit more focused on the task at hand, then other collections. 2025-04-02 17:43:13 <@pboy:fedora.im> I suppose, we can reuase a lot of them. Although I don't know how to accomplish that. Until now I'm missing a kind of library to link to. 2025-04-02 17:43:26 <@pboy:fedora.im> I suppose, we can reuse a lot of them. We have the rare case of finishing early instead of running overdue. :-) 2025-04-02 17:46:05 <@eseyman:fedora.im> yes 2025-04-02 17:46:23 <@pboy:fedora.im> OK, so bye bye!
