18:06:20 <andersson007__> 🎉
18:07:22 <andersson007__> any other updates?
18:07:57 <acozine> don't think so
18:08:56 <andersson007__> any topics people interested in discussing today?
18:09:29 <mariolenz[m]> Wait, one thing. Do you remember the dellemc.os6/9/10?
18:09:38 <andersson007__> yep
18:11:11 <mariolenz[m]> It's nearly 4 weeks since I've opened the issues in the repositories that they look unmaintained. If it's OK for yoou, I would open votes tomorrow to remove them from Ansible 8. OK?
18:11:43 <mariolenz[m]> This would be in time to announce the votes on the next bullhorn issue.
18:12:01 <andersson007__> do you mean next week?
18:12:07 <andersson007__> bullhorn
18:12:11 <acozine> +1, summer is over, I would expect 4 weeks to be enough for someone to respond if the repo is active
18:12:35 <mariolenz[m]> https://github.com/ansible-community/community-topics/issues/134 27 days ago
18:12:44 <andersson007__> +1
18:12:49 <cybette_> I think it was mentioned "one month" after the issue was opened, which means September 25.
18:12:55 <mariolenz[m]> Or should I wait another week?
18:13:43 <andersson007__> we could start the vote next Monday maybe?
18:13:54 <cybette_> I think it's ok to open the voting this week, and include it in next week's bullhorn
18:14:13 <andersson007__> i'm ok with this week or on Monday
18:14:40 <cybette_> Monday sounds good
18:14:49 <andersson007__> i think several days won't change much:)
18:15:03 <remindbot[m]> @cybette:ansible.im cyb-clock chimes every 15 minutes during the community meeting
18:15:20 <cybette_> yep :) announce it on irc/matrix on monday when the vote opens, add it to bullhorn, give it another week to collect votes...
18:15:51 <mariolenz[m]> OK, then I'll wait a couple of days.
18:15:59 <andersson007__> #action mariolenz[m] to open vote on dellemc.* collection exclusion
18:16:08 <andersson007__> cool, thanks:)
18:16:10 <cybette_> thanks mariolenz for keeping on top of this topic!
18:16:17 <andersson007__> +1
18:16:38 <andersson007__> maybe we could discuss this https://github.com/ansible-community/community-topics/issues/138 ?
18:16:46 <andersson007__> #topic https://github.com/ansible-community/community-topics/issues/138
18:18:42 <andersson007__> Is anyone against of having ide config files in collection repos?
18:19:01 <acozine> I might like to see a size limit on them
18:19:19 <acozine> I don't know how big they get, on average
18:19:58 <mariolenz[m]> Difficult. I have some very strong views on NOT including editor / IDE / whatever specific stuff in a git repository. But I might be wrong there.
18:20:54 <acozine> saying "it's okay if it's under this size" seems reasonable, and it might avoid a fight about which ones are okay / when they're okay
18:21:10 <acozine> I don't have strong feelings either way
18:21:36 <acozine> but when we open a loophole I do start to wonder "how can this go wrong?"
18:21:58 <andersson007__> yep
18:22:43 <andersson007__> i would split the issue into several
18:23:00 <mariolenz[m]> The thing is, if you add VSCode specific stuff, there's no reason why not to add Eclipse or Emacs or vi specific configs. In the end, there are dozens of editor or IDE specific configurations.
18:23:01 <andersson007__> it looks complicated as there are actually several questions brought up
18:23:26 <andersson007__> mariolenz[m]: agreed
18:24:22 <andersson007__> i would split the issue. one of the issue will be about editors' configs and we can vote
18:26:54 <andersson007__> or maybe we could start with changing that statement briantist mentioned, for clarity
18:27:15 <andersson007__> i could submit a PR
18:28:09 <andersson007__> it will be more convenient to discuss and vote on something concrete
18:28:49 <andersson007__> or i could ask briantist to submit the PR
18:30:00 <remindbot[m]> @cybette:ansible.im cyb-clock chimes every 15 minutes during the community meeting
18:30:35 <andersson007__> okay, if nobody's against:
18:31:09 <andersson007__> #action: andersson007_[m] to ask briantist to submit a PR to clarify the statement mentioned in https://github.com/ansible-community/community-topics/issues/138
18:31:40 <andersson007__> we can move to another topic, any suggestions?
18:32:46 <acozine> Quick shoutout to felixfontein for his PR to modernize the filter documentation - now that we can publish filter docs, it's time to make them shine
18:32:57 <acozine> nothing we need to discuss, though
18:33:45 <andersson007__> thanks acozine
18:37:27 <andersson007__> today there are only 6 people as far as i can see
18:37:45 <acozine> quiet week
18:38:04 <andersson007__> many of topics were created by folks who are not around
18:38:08 <cybette_> yeah sorry I'm working on something else on the side, not very good at multitasking 😅
18:38:41 <andersson007__> cybette_: no worries:)
18:39:29 <andersson007__> okay, let's finish the meeting earlier then?
18:41:33 <andersson007__> if no questions appear, I'll close the meeting in 2 minutes
18:41:41 <cybette_> ok for me :)
18:41:45 <acozine> sounds good
18:41:53 <mariolenz[m]> Maybe https://github.com/ansible-community/community-topics/issues/105#issuecomment-1242367646
18:41:55 <acozine> I'll think about the editor-specific files thing
18:42:04 <andersson007__> acozine: thanks!
18:43:01 <mariolenz[m]> That's OK, isn't it?
18:43:08 <andersson007__> mariolenz[m]: i suggest starting with it next meeting, ideas?
18:43:19 <andersson007__> when there are more folks and time
18:44:09 <andersson007__> we could discuss it async in the issue prior to the meeting
18:44:09 <mariolenz[m]> OK
18:44:31 <andersson007__> #endmeeting
