18:06:13 <nirik> so, since we changed to bodhi2 last year it was using createrepo with the 'bz2' compression.
18:06:25 <nirik> for rhel6 thats fine, all works as expected.
18:06:41 <nirik> for rhel5 all works fine, except the groups/comps file is hosed and doesn't work.
18:06:59 <nirik> tibbs noticed it was broken when he was testing macro changes.
18:07:18 <nirik> So, stupidly, I assumed we needed the 'gz' option. Since gz is older, etc etc
18:07:31 <nirik> sadly, the gz option breaks everything and makes none of it work
18:07:40 <nirik> the correct option turns out to be 'compat'
18:08:09 <nirik> so if you are using createrepo and want it to work with rhel5/centos5, you have to use compression type compat
