18:01:40 <smooge> hello
18:02:16 <pgreco> hi, I'm here
18:02:29 <smooge> #topic Old Business
18:02:39 <smooge> I don't have any old business to discuss at the moment
18:02:46 <smooge> does anyone else?
18:03:36 <smooge> #topic EPEL-6
18:03:40 <smooge> CentOS 6 entered Maintenance Support 2 (see https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/updates/errata/ ) on May 10th 2017 and now only receives critical updates. It will go EOL on 30 Nov, 2020 -- in 50 weeks, 4 days, 5 hours, 57 minutes, and 55 seconds

18:03:58 <smooge> #topic EPEL-7
18:04:18 <smooge> OK this one has a thread on epel-devel about python37 being in EPEL-7
18:05:02 <smooge> I put my not-humble-opinion on it and would like anyone else who has an opinion to say also
18:05:10 <nirik> if people want to do that great, I don't think any of us do. ;)
18:05:19 <tdawson> My "does not install on epel7 since rhel 7.7" is almost finishted. The final fixed package has been built. Two weeks and they will all install, or have been removed.
18:05:39 <tdawson> smooge: I agree with your humble opinion
18:06:05 <smooge> any other EPEL-7 items?
18:06:47 <smooge> #topic EPEL-8
18:06:47 <smooge> #info sgallagh/merlinm says...
18:07:24 <smooge> so mboddu merlinm tdawson and I have been trying to figure out why mbs builds stopped working. I am down to something dodgy on the createrepo
18:08:31 <tdawson> As long as you don't need those particular packages that are missing ... it's fine. :)
18:08:49 <mboddu> Haha
18:08:57 <smooge> The problem was that certain files were not showing up in the buildroot tree that koji gives the builders. I looked at the grobisplitter repodata and the files were all mentioned in the .xml.gz files with the proper data.. however they were not in the sqllite data
18:08:58 <mboddu> Dont build anything that is coming from rhel8
18:09:12 <mboddu> :)
18:10:47 <smooge> as I said in #epel.. I was able to download the stuff yesterday.. then today I could not. I ran createrepo_c . like the script does and it said there were 6644 files but the repodata did not have python3-lxml or python3-pyyaml and no output for why. I then added --xz and the data was there. I then reran it without --xz and it created a repodata which when queried showed those files.
18:11:20 <smooge> each time createrepo_c said it had found exactly the number of packages which are in the tree
18:11:31 <mboddu> .whoowns createrepo_c
18:11:33 <zodbot> mboddu: owner: tmlcoch; admin: dmach; commit: jrohel, pkratoch, mblaha - Fedora: @rpm-software-management-sig; Fedora EPEL: @rpm-software-management-sig
18:11:56 <smooge> createrepo_c has not been updated in F30 since mid September
18:12:18 <mboddu> Which is what I am looking for as well, fedora has 0.15
18:12:30 <mboddu> 0.15.1 but the latest release is 0.15.4
18:13:17 <tdawson> I just want to point out, that as of two days ago, we couldn't build modules in epel8 anyway ... cuz we couldn't. So this is still a step in the right direction. A bit of a hickup, but still in the right direction.
18:14:05 <smooge> tdawson, well the problem is that this would affect general builds
18:14:31 <tdawson> Oh ... well then ... that's bad.
18:14:33 <mboddu> tdawson: All the epel8 normal builds are screwed up as well
18:14:36 <smooge> the repodata didn't have glibc in it at one point
18:14:57 <nirik> who needs that?
18:15:12 <mboddu> nirik: My browser ;)
18:15:43 * smooge broke grobisplitter01 the system just now by rebooting it after doing updates.
18:15:44 <mboddu> (On side note to nirik, the glibc issue has been fixed, my FF is working now)
18:16:23 <smooge> ok looks like it can't mount disks
18:16:29 <smooge> yay
18:16:33 <smooge> back to the meeting
18:16:47 <smooge> #topic Open Floor
18:17:08 <smooge> #info No meeting til 2020-01-08
18:17:42 <smooge> I am going to see if I can cancel individual meetings in fedocal so we don't get invites which won't go anywhere
18:18:02 <nirik> +1
18:18:13 <smooge> anything else for this meeting?
18:18:24 <smooge> if not you get 40 minutes back
18:18:28 <smooge> for free
18:18:38 <nirik> hurray. Can I Use them anytime?
18:18:47 <smooge> only in the next 40 minutes
18:19:04 <smooge> after that offer void
18:19:14 <smooge> ok thank you all for coming. See you all in January
18:19:18 <smooge> #endmeeting
