18:09:03
https://pagure.io/epel/issue/271 is the first one - Proxying from Michel Lind 🎩 - django 4.2 landed; still working on the django doc as promised.
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
18:11:31
https://pagure.io/epel/issue/268 is the other issue for the meeting; there hasn't been any further comment on the PR from Troy, so please do look and comment if you have thoughts on it.
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
18:13:21
This isn't tagged for meeting, but I will bring it up anyways as Elections are now open:

18:14:11
Similarly to above, there aren't many comments on the issue; Please voice your opinion if you have one! :)

18:16:06
We don't ask quest ? or fav color? sheesh. ;)
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>

I have something :)
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
18:19:30
Go ahead :)
<@dherrera:fedora.im>
18:21:20
I've been working on getting Troy Dawson willit tool to build and run through github-actions, right now I've been working on it in a sandbox repository at https://github.com/dherrerace/willit-workflow , but I think that I will be able to get a running demo between today and tomorrow ^^
<@zodbot:fedora.im>
18:22:09
neil gave a cookie to dherrera. They now have 15 cookies, 1 of which were obtained in the Fedora 40 release cycle
<@dherrera:fedora.im>
18:22:48
honestly, the only thing that slows me down is that the script does a lot of stuff xD so it takes like 4h per repository :9, but at least I was able to split the workload so it works fine there
<@dherrera:fedora.im>
18:23:17
I just finished the merging part, so rn I just have to mount it on github pages for it to be done
<@dherrera:fedora.im>
18:23:25
and that's it :)
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
18:24:04
Awesome work! I've seen your progress emails lately.
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
18:27:48
ah, it checks more than install....
<@dherrera:fedora.im>
18:28:06
yeah, willit it also checks for CVEs
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
18:28:12
https://pagure.io/releng/blob/main/f/scripts/ftbfs-fti/follow-policy.py is the script...

I have one thing: Elections cycle for F40 has begun, which will be the first cycle with an EPEL election. There are four seats up this time around, for a two year term per the election policy adopted last year. Nominations are open beginning today until 2024-05-08. Schedule: https://fedorapeople.org/groups/schedule/f-40/f-40-elections-tasks.html
<@salimma:fedora.im>
18:33:48
I'm back! But watching this while I have lunch
<@salimma:fedora.im>
18:34:35
I nominated Carl in case he forgot since everyone but Pablo said they are running again
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
18:34:47
Links can be found here to the wiki pages for nominations -- under 'Upcoming Elections'

18:38:09
Well, I'll also post Michel Lind 🎩 's question about JIRA issues now for discussion: >I wonder in general how to follow up with JIRA issues that has no response? Esp the one about iptables ABI regression. No response and 9.4 is out soon
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
18:38:49
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
18:40:08
My suspicion is that this just came in at a strange time in the RHEL lifecycle
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
18:40:19
i.e., RHEL releases are coming soon
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
18:40:33
no idea off hand. I suppose you could try mailing phil directly (although I don't usually suggest that kind of thing. ;)
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
18:43:27
:)
<@smooge:fedora.im>
18:45:47
no idea myself. jira is the new bugzilla except even more hated so things tend to pile up
<@nirik:matrix.scrye.com>
18:47:23
as always it could be any number of things... maintainer could be on vacation, could be at a time where they have higher pri things, etc... impossible to say.
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
18:48:18
"It Depends"
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
18:49:22
I guess it wouldn't hurt to have some documentation on interacting with RHEL maintainers via JIRA more generally, which would include the ... let's say best practices for engagement without making ourselves hated :D
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
18:50:19
i.e., remember to be respectful of their time, include some general (already available) information about RHEL lifecycle, when maintainers might be more busy than others, etc.
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
18:51:31
We've about 10 minutes left. Does anyone else have anything for open floor?
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
18:52:20
I think I noted everything from you Michel Lind 🎩 - not sure if you wanted to speak more about django
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
18:55:45
Hearing nothing, I move to adjourn the meeting!
<@nhanlon:beeper.com>
18:56:41
Thank you everyone for joining. Hope y'all have a great rest of your week and will see a couple of you this weekend in a rainstorm in Washington.
<@dherrera:fedora.im>
18:57:06
Thanks Neil for running the meeting ^^
