The /etc/lvm/devices directory is empty nowm no devices file. I have not yet been able to check whether an xdevice file is created on the first boot. And I have also not yet been able to check the ARM file (Fedora-Server-40_Beta-1.9.aarch64.raw.xz). Did anyone else tried to create a VM and checked the LVM devices directory? OR the ARM image? 2024-03-20 17:20:56 <@cooltshirtguy:fedora.im> I can check the ARM Image later today 2024-03-20 17:21:54 <@pboy:fedora.im> Yeah, Could you check the image for an empty /etc/lvm/devices, too? I can publish my new guide how to mount the image for inspection. 2024-03-20 17:22:51 <@cooltshirtguy:fedora.im> ok 2024-03-20 17:23:29 <@pboy:fedora.im> If I remember correctly, you have a Raspberry? Would be interesting to check without arm-image-installer, just dd. Question is, if first boot creates a /etc/lvm/devices/systemdevices file. 2024-03-20 17:23:58 <@cooltshirtguy:fedora.im> correct pi4. sure 2024-03-20 17:24:22 <@pboy:fedora.im> OK, I continue to check the VM image. 2024-03-20 17:25:10 <@pboy:fedora.im> Probably, we can publish our results on the mailing list? Maybe the easiest way. 2024-03-20 17:25:25 <@cooltshirtguy:fedora.im> that's fine 2024-03-20 17:26:31 <@pboy:fedora.im> OK, let's move on. I think we should postpone the topic review installation media ? Without Tomas it's difficult. Or does someone has a question here? 2024-03-20 17:27:06 <@eseyman:fedora.im> I won't get around to installing on ARM before next week 2024-03-20 17:27:52 <@pboy:fedora.im> @eseyman thats fine! We have some time and should test different models. 2024-03-20 17:28:34 <@pboy:fedora.im> OK, I see no objection against postponing installation media 2024-03-20 17:28:53 <@pboy:fedora.im> !topic 4. Not so much the new features. 2024-03-20 17:37:16 <@eseyman:fedora.im> Yes, we're focusing on installation and integration more than anything else 2024-03-20 17:37:23 <@pboy:fedora.im> I can monitor the IPv4 case, Ruby and systemd 2024-03-20 17:37:27 <@jwhimpel:matrix.org> There's a change to identify IPV4 address collisions. I'm not sure how it reacts if there's no console on which to report an error. I will try to follow-up on this. I suspect most servers use either fixed IP's or use DHCP, in which case it's a non-issue. 2024-03-20 17:38:07 <@pboy:fedora.im> @jwhimpel YES, please take the IPv4 caseQ! 2024-03-20 17:38:55 <@pboy:fedora.im> @eseyman yes, and it should work in the default configuration. 2024-03-20 17:40:13 <@pboy:fedora.im> @eseyman there are some items left. Any idea? 2024-03-20 17:40:39 <@eseyman:fedora.im> I didn't expect us to test everything on that list... 2024-03-20 17:40:47 <@pboy:fedora.im> OK 2024-03-20 17:40:55 <@cooltshirtguy:fedora.im> I can do podman, not sure what this is, Restructure Kubernetes Packages, if got a pointer I can look into it 2024-03-20 17:41:38 <@pboy:fedora.im> @cooltshirtguy wonderful! And we have to keep in mind, that we are supposed to write a release note about it. And probably initiate some other discussion, e.g. a blog post or a pod cast in cooperation with Fedora marketing. 2024-03-20 17:49:31 <@pboy:fedora.im> I had thought we would stick with ARM SBCs. That's where we have the most groundwork. But at the moment I'm not even sure if we'll have a working installation script. But I don't see any alternative at the moment. Any ideas? 2024-03-20 17:51:35 <@pboy:fedora.im> Oh, mistake ARM installation script works fine (copy&paste not so :-) ) 2024-03-20 17:52:27 <@pboy:fedora.im> Hm, no ideas here ? 2024-03-20 17:53:19 <@eseyman:fedora.im> I'm sorry, I can't bring myself to care about a "story" for F40, not with the amount of stuff I have to do 2024-03-20 17:54:05 <@pboy:fedora.im> Yeah, it a lot at the moment. 2024-03-20 17:54:27 <@pboy:fedora.im> And seems a good reason to stick with our ARM project. 2024-03-20 17:54:38 <@pboy:fedora.im> I have submitted a CfP on our project for DevConf. If that is accepted, we would definitely have something. 2024-03-20 17:55:03 <@pboy:fedora.im> OK, let's see. 2024-03-20 17:55:37 <@pboy:fedora.im> !topic 3.
