15:00:23 <pwhalen> #topic roll call
15:00:34 <pwhalen> Good morning folks, who's here today?
15:01:33 * miabbott is here
15:01:36 * pbrobinson o/
15:01:43 * djachimo is here
15:02:37 * coremodule is here
15:02:39 <pwhalen> OK, let get started!
15:02:42 <pwhalen> #topic 1) ==== Working Group ====
15:03:41 <pwhalen> We definitely need to document things changing in F38, but I've not started to look at that yet
15:04:05 <pwhalen> Does anyone else have anything for admin?
15:05:19 <pwhalen> #topic 2) ==== Fedora 37 - Stable ====
15:05:19 <pwhalen> https://openqa.fedoraproject.org/tests/overview?distri=fedora&version=37&build=Fedora-IoT-37-20230313.0&groupid=1&groupid=5
15:05:22 <pbrobinson> I suppose how do we wish to layout a github issue reporting thing for general IoT problems
15:05:50 <pwhalen> #undo
15:05:50 <zodbot> Removing item from minutes: <MeetBot.items.Link object at 0x7f5beffce9b0>
15:06:24 <pwhalen> I thought we had that already
15:07:15 <pbrobinson> it was something miabbott bought up the other day
15:07:54 <miabbott> right, i was looking for an "issue tracker" for generic IoT issues
15:08:10 <pwhalen> Right, so I guess we need that still
15:08:19 <miabbott> in my mind, i envisioned a repo under the `fedora-iot` GH org that was just for issues
15:09:19 <pbrobinson> miabbott: right,that's the easy bit, I was more considering, templates, tags etc and what all those pieces, if any, should look like
15:10:51 <miabbott> i'm inclined to follow the model of silverblue/coreos...just borrow some of their work
15:11:03 <pwhalen> wfm
15:11:55 <miabbott> pbrobinson: if you have some more specific questions/asks, i'd be happy to answer them. or even just draft up a proposal
15:14:00 <pwhalen> not sure whats involved in setting it up, but I can look at that unless someone else wants to
15:14:02 <pbrobinson> sounds reasonable, I just thought I'd mention it here given it's the place/time
15:14:17 <pbrobinson> pwhalen: sure, go for it
15:14:38 <pwhalen> #action pwhalen to look into creating Fedora IoT issue tracker
15:14:48 <pbrobinson> let me know if you've got any queries I can assist with
15:14:51 <pwhalen> will do
15:14:57 <pwhalen> Anything else for admin?
15:15:07 <miabbott> thanks for bring it back up pbrobinson
15:15:30 <pwhalen> #topic 2) ==== Fedora 37 - Stable ====
15:15:30 <pwhalen> https://openqa.fedoraproject.org/tests/overview?distri=fedora&version=37&build=Fedora-IoT-37-20230313.0&groupid=1&groupid=5
15:16:07 <pwhalen> coremodule: did you have a chance to look at the rebase issue on aarch64?
15:17:21 <coremodule> I've looked at it, it seems to be an issue with openqa. I haven't tested a nightly this week, but when I did a last test, it worked.
15:17:58 <pwhalen> what did you rebase to?
15:19:14 <coremodule> rawhide
15:19:27 <pbrobinson> so everything worked as expected?
15:19:55 <coremodule> yeah, it seemed to work. I didn't get any errors.
15:20:13 <coremodule> I'm downloading an image now to test on.
15:20:45 <pwhalen> ok, that would be old F38 before it was branched. We dont have an f39 compose yet
15:20:54 <pbrobinson> we don't exactly have rawhide atm, it's basically f38 from branch point, and I think ssh is broken
15:21:16 <pwhalen> ssh is definitely broken f37 -> f38
15:21:17 <pbrobinson> maybe ssh wasn't broken at branchpoint
15:21:46 <pwhalen> #info Bug 2172956 - Update hostkey migration to support OSTree systems and dynamically detect hostkey location
15:21:46 <pwhalen> #link https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2172956
15:21:56 <pwhalen> I think this is the bug
15:23:25 <coremodule> okay, cool. thanks for that link. I'll run some tests on the 20230306 image and confirm.
15:23:26 <pwhalen> coremodule: you were asking about other tests for openqa, we really need one that tests stable -> devel
15:23:46 <pwhalen> or stable -> rawhide
15:23:54 <coremodule> perfect, okay. added to my list.
15:23:55 <pwhalen> so we can catch these
15:24:30 <pwhalen> only coreos isnt affected by this bug in F38
15:24:46 <coremodule> got it.
15:25:58 <pwhalen> #topic 3) ==== Fedora 38 - Devel ====
15:25:58 <pwhalen> https://openqa.fedoraproject.org/tests/overview?distri=fedora&version=38&build=Fedora-IoT-38-20230310.2&groupid=1&groupid=5
15:27:57 <pwhalen> We still have a few outstanding issues in F38, notably the disk images aren't yet working on the rpi. I saw some movement on the changes there but not sure when we can expect those in production
15:28:31 <pbrobinson> so we've clarified some pieces needed by the osbuild team and they mentioned they should have the changes done this week
15:29:21 <pbrobinson> with some upstream firmware changes and dropping of armhfp we could simplify the firmware setup now we've tested it works so that's nice
15:30:12 <miabbott> do we need any doc changes related to the firmware? or will everything just work out of the box?
15:31:04 <pwhalen> shoudl work out of the box
15:31:13 <pwhalen> As it did before
15:31:14 <miabbott> excellent
15:31:16 <pbrobinson> for firmware everything will work OTB
15:33:10 <pwhalen> the simplified installer stuff also hasnt landed, I dont know that it will with this version of the osbuild-composer either.
15:36:13 <pbrobinson> I think we have a little more time there, the feature is new and isolated and doesn't affect the other artefacts
15:36:42 <pwhalen> agreed. ok.
15:36:46 <pbrobinson> and we can do new f38 releases regularly too if we need to fix some bugs there post GA
15:37:55 <pwhalen> been hitting a variety of issues with composes lately, some fedora infra, some osbuild failures. Todays failure is osbuild related but not yet looked why
15:38:58 <pwhalen> Does anyone has anything else for f38?
15:39:08 <pbrobinson> so pwhalen do let people know if you need assistance there, from me or others
15:39:47 <miabbott> agreed! teach us the ways of iot compose debugging
15:40:04 <pwhalen> Right will do, was just mentioning it
15:40:15 <miabbott> 👍
15:40:26 <pwhalen> https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/compose/iot/Fedora-IoT-38-20230315.0/logs/global/osbuild/IoT-2-watch-task.log
15:41:08 <pwhalen> believe this has been reported to osbuild folks already
15:41:41 <pwhalen> #topic 4) ==== Fedora 39 - Rawhide ====
15:41:49 <pwhalen> #info Should have a compose by the end of the week.
15:42:42 <pbrobinson> whoop whoop
15:42:56 <pwhalen> #topic 5) ==== Open Floor ====
15:43:15 <pbrobinson> I think osbuild team now has a fedora branching process so next time thing should be smoother
15:43:33 <pbrobinson> minor general arm related one
15:44:02 <pbrobinson> if people with arm devices using the Fedora U-Boot builds can test the latest builds on their devices
15:44:15 <pbrobinson> I've noticed some regressions there so wider testing would be welcome
15:44:51 <pwhalen> You mentioned rockchip, anything else?
15:45:18 <coremodule> okay, can do
15:45:47 <pwhalen> I wish rockchip devices were easier to upgrade. I dont want to do the Pinebook pro because I dont have a serial cable and my Firefly I need to short out those two pads which takes me forever to get working
15:47:33 <pwhalen> Ok, last call
15:47:53 <pwhalen> #endmeeting
