18:07:13 <sgallagh> Sure
18:07:15 <sgallagh> +1
18:07:39 <t8m> +1 although there seem to be many dependencies not yet filed for review?
18:08:02 <mmaslano> but it can't hurt Fedora
18:08:07 <jmelis> hi guys, they arent mandatory deps
18:08:08 <mmaslano> it's only leaf dependencies
18:08:15 <t8m> jmelis, OK
18:08:33 <mitr> #agreed OpenNebula feature is approved (+7-0)

18:09:24 <sgallagh> Heavily-biased +1 :)
18:09:34 <nirik> sure, +1 here as well. I'm not sure how many fedora users will use it, but I think it's great for those who do.
18:09:38 <mitr> +1
18:09:42 <t8m> +1 if there is buy-in from the autofs maintainer
18:09:55 <sgallagh> t8m: Ian Kent is working with us very closely

18:11:04 <mmaslano> +1
18:11:06 <mitr> notting: "Question added to feature page"
18:11:33 <t8m> +1 seems useful, again I expect cooperation with the sudo maintainer
18:11:33 <mitr> +1 from me, somewhat biased
18:11:46 <nirik> sure, +1
18:11:57 <mitr> t8m: again, sudo maintainer is a co-owner of the feature :)
18:11:58 <sgallagh> Heavily-biased +1 :)
18:12:13 <t8m> mitr, yeah, I see that
18:12:19 <sgallagh> mitr: notting's question was answered on the talk page

18:12:59 <mitr> #topic #746 F17 Feature: Sugar 0.96 - https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/Sugar_0.96
18:13:01 <t8m> sgallagh, sure the default if the nsswitch entry is not present should be to behave as unpatched sudo
18:13:03 <sgallagh> And I can add (more clearly) yes, if SSSD isn't configured to handle it, we skip it
18:13:17 <mmaslano> +1

18:13:27 <t8m> +1
18:13:28 <sgallagh> t8m: I think the question was "if 'sss' is there but SSSD itself isn't configured, are we still okay)
18:13:28 <nirik> +1 for this.
18:13:36 <sgallagh> +1 to Sugar
18:14:02 <mitr> and +1 from me

18:14:38 <zodbot> mitr: #724 (sponsor request - sdake) – FESCo - https://fedorahosted.org/fesco/ticket/724
18:14:41 <mitr> This was added late, do we want to discuss it today?
18:15:03 <t8m> I'm OK with it
18:15:14 <t8m> we're early anyway
18:15:32 * nirik is ok with discussing today
18:15:49 * mitr is obviously OK as well
18:17:19 <nirik> I like their reviews and they do seem to know what they are doing, but thats a very small amount of reviews to sample on. I'd personally ask them to do more reviews and resubmit in a while.
18:17:30 <mitr> *shrug* Let me start - I'm mildly +1 - experience with several packages, reasonably thorough reviews of other
18:17:53 <sgallagh> I'm in agreement with nirik
18:17:53 <mitr> 's packages
18:19:24 <mmaslano> I suggest finding someone else from sponsors, who will sponsor cloud people than add him into sponsors
18:19:31 <t8m> I'm +1 as I like the reviews and I think more sponsors is good
18:20:01 <mmaslano> it's really low number of reviews. I'm sorry but -1 from me
18:21:00 <mitr> With 5 presen, we can't get 5 agreements today.
18:21:21 <nirik> we could also postpone to next week when we have more folks... or ask people to vote in ticket.
18:21:27 <t8m> I'd propose asking him to do a few more reviews.
18:21:30 <mitr> Defer to next meeting with more people present (... which is more or less equivalent to temporary rejection)?
18:21:46 <nirik> sure. (and advise more reviews in the next week? ;)
18:21:47 <sgallagh> mitr: Defer
18:22:03 <mitr> nirik: Sure, that works :)
18:22:32 <mitr> #agreed Deferred for next week; we would like to see more reviews
18:23:09 <mitr> That's about all on today's agenda
18:23:19 * nirik has one item for open floor.
18:23:32 <mitr> #topic Next week's chair
18:23:45 <mitr> Does anybody want to volunteer?
18:23:56 <nirik> I've not done it in a while, I can.
18:24:19 <mitr> #agreed nirik will chair the meeting on Jan 23
18:24:23 <mitr> #topic Open Floor
18:24:26 <mitr> nirik?
18:24:37 * nirik takes off his fesco hat and puts on his infrastructure hat
18:25:38 <nirik> So, as you may know we are migrating all our servers to rhel6. As part of this we are looking at the torrent server. Sadly, there's almost no good torrent seeding software that exists so we have to cobble something together. Also, we have noted usage of torrents is very much in decline.
18:25:49 <nirik> This may be a question for the board, but I thought I would bring it up here...
18:25:59 <nirik> do we want to keep doing a torrent seed? or discontinue it?
18:26:38 <sgallagh> I for one always use the torrent (and seed for a week at minimum)
18:26:39 <nirik> we don't need to decide this today, just wanted to bring it up for more visibility.
18:27:20 <nirik> sgallagh: some folks at fudcon noted that direct downloads for them were much faster. Have you seen torrent be slow?
18:27:21 <sgallagh> I think the torrent is very helpful for the release-day crush
18:27:33 <sgallagh> I pulled 4.8MB/sec on F16
18:27:58 <nirik> we see usage spikes on release days, but almost not any other day.
18:28:13 <sgallagh> Of course, those reports could be coming from providers that throttle torrents
18:28:18 <nirik> yep.
18:28:18 <sgallagh> Like Comcast
18:28:50 <sgallagh> (personally, I'd like to sit in on the Blizzard vs. Comcast lawsuit when that gets to court)
18:28:52 <nirik> do folks think this is a fesco decision? or more a board thing?
18:29:05 <mitr> I don't care much either way - if Infrastructure doesn't want to do the work, it just won't get done anyway.
18:29:06 <sgallagh> nirik: Probably the board, honestly.
18:29:35 <nirik> the current torrent seeder is using the 'bittorrent' software, but that went closed source a while back...
18:29:54 <nirik> new one would probibly use opentracker+duct tape.
18:30:15 * nirik notes big torrent sites like piratebay are now also discontinuing torrents.
18:30:33 <nirik> I'll bring it up to the Board, but any feedback from anyone welcome.
18:30:38 <mitr> nirik: I think that's ".torrent files", not the service as such
18:30:55 <nirik> it's the service too. They will be only doing magnet
18:31:44 <nirik> As far as I can tell anyhow
18:32:14 <t8m> I'd like to see the torrent server kept however if there is no suitable free software for tracker then hardly anybody can be upset if fedora discontinues it.
18:33:20 <mitr> Perhaps one concern - is there a risk of an unofficial feed? If so, having an official one is probably better than the risk of someone creating a malicious unofficial one.
18:33:50 <mitr> I'd guess that unofficial torrents won't happen, but I don't have any data to support this
18:33:52 <nirik> yeah, anyone can create a torrent.... they just need a place to seed from and software to do it.
18:34:09 <nirik> fedora releases have often shown up on pirate bay and the like before official release.
18:34:28 <nirik> always check the gpg sig and checksum. ;)
18:34:50 <nirik> we could look at shipping magnet links... but then we get no stats from it.
18:36:10 <nirik> anyhow, just wanted to bring it up. thanks.
18:36:55 <mitr> We have some time left, and 11 features in ReadyForWrangler - is there anything simple enough that we'd want to pre-approve it right now?
18:37:21 <sgallagh> Actually, I have a lot on my plate today. I'd be good with moving to adjourn early for a change :)
18:37:41 <mitr> ok :)
18:37:43 <t8m> +1 to early ending :)
18:37:46 <mitr> Anything else?
18:37:56 * nirik has nothing else.
18:38:54 <mmaslano> we can vote on them in tickets after robyn put them into ready for fesco
18:39:07 <mmaslano> 11 features sounds like a lot for one meeting :(
18:39:25 <nirik> next tue is feature freeze I think.
18:39:40 <mitr> yes
18:39:40 <mmaslano> yes
18:39:58 <nirik> we may need a long session or a special session then. ;)
18:40:27 * mitr will close the meeting in 5.. 4...
18:40:49 <mitr> OK, thanks everybody. See you next week.
18:40:59 <mitr> #endmeeting
