15:08:09 <sayan> #chair jcline
15:08:09 <zodbot> Current chairs: a2batic abompard jcline mizmo sayan shillman
15:09:13 <sayan> jcline did create the tasks in pagure
15:09:37 <jcline> I did, and I've started on one of the tasks
15:09:49 <jcline> I'm just writing tests for the backend change now
15:10:11 <sayan> jcline: you are working on the IRC one right?
15:10:23 <sayan> I mean toggle IRC state
15:10:27 <jcline> sayan, yes
15:11:26 <sayan> I did some API fixes last week, and started setting up the documentation
15:11:33 <sayan> http://ircb.readthedocs.io/
15:11:51 <jcline> There's also some mockups to get me started on the front end stuff, but I expect that'll take me a while since it'll be new territory for me, technologically speaking
15:12:18 <jcline> sayan++
15:12:18 <zodbot> jcline: Karma for sayanchowdhury changed to 9 (for the f25 release cycle): https://badges.fedoraproject.org/tags/cookie/any
15:12:22 <sayan> the latest version should be blank now
15:12:31 <mizmo> thats what i worked on last week, the IRC mockups, almost complete. have a blog post in progress too on them
15:12:34 <sayan> but you can find the changes in the api_fixes branch
15:13:31 <sayan> I just started building the api_fixes branch, should be there in a few minutes.
15:15:12 <sayan> shillman: there had been other meetings in the past week, can you give an update on that?
15:16:42 <shillman> sayan: sure.
15:17:10 <shillman> sayan and I met yesterday to do a feasibility evaluation of the mockups I'd created for regional hubs.
15:18:28 <shillman> We discussed the fact that event creation needs to happen in hubs, and that there needs to be mockups for that.
15:19:02 <shillman> Sayan thinks that having the ability to identify which events are within a certain distance is do-able, but needs to investigate. I suspect this is also relevant to people within a certain distance.
15:19:23 <shillman> Keeping in mind that the map should allow updating, as well as the filter/search settings.
15:20:27 <shillman> Similarly complicated is the ability to detect who is online, given that both map and filter/search settings can update the list. He was concerned about it being too heavy and taking too much time, so is going to investigate how to make it as lightweight and quick as possible.
15:21:48 <shillman> Finally, we ran into the need for discussion around how hubs would suggest the creation of new regional hubs to people. The goal here is for Hubs to notice that there is a certain number (6?) of people in a certain area, and suggest to them that they might be able to create a regional hub. The definition of what area is reasonable to suggest for, and the numbers required are uncertain.
15:22:26 <shillman> Similarly, once the possibility of a regional hub is suggested, the actual hub should not exist until one of the people to whom it was suggested in that area is willing to take charge of it and be admin for it.
15:23:06 <shillman> So I've created an issue for that, https://pagure.io/fedora-hubs/issue/298.
15:24:35 <shillman> We also very briefly discussed the ability to type-ahead suggest possible locations in a specified country, as per https://pagure.io/fedora-hubs/issue/286
15:24:48 <shillman> He seemed to believe that it was fairly do-able.
15:24:58 <shillman> I think that was it. Sayan, anything to add?
15:25:08 <sayan> nope
15:25:19 <mizmo> phew, im glad the type ahead is doable we werent sure on that one
15:25:27 <shillman> Oh, I also added an event creation issue: https://pagure.io/fedora-hubs/issue/299
15:26:05 <shillman> that really is it. :)
15:26:06 <sayan> The problem with region is determining the admin of that hub
15:26:34 <mizmo> i wonder could we also offer event creation via RSS feed, from fedocal
15:27:18 <sayan> mizmo: you mean API?
15:27:54 <mizmo> sayan: well if it was via RSS / ical / etc it wouldn't rely on just one app
15:28:12 <mizmo> (right?)
15:29:27 <sayan> RSS feed/ical is available after the event is created
15:30:20 <sayan> then you can add your RSS feed to feed reader or export ical to other calendars
15:30:54 <mizmo> sayan: no i mean, as an alternative to doing event creation in hubs, if you have the event already in fedocal or google cal, etc, to go thru create event UI and just copy/paste the ical/rss URL
15:31:18 <mizmo> rss/ical in and rss/ical out but i was specifically talking about the in side
15:31:50 <sayan> oh! yes, we can do that
15:31:57 <mizmo> thats one issue that happens with a lot of events systems, is that the event already exists in one system and the others are just used to syndicate. eg if ambassadors are going to be at an event that is not a fedora event
15:33:23 <mizmo> cool
15:33:24 <sayan> I have not much idea on icals, but good if we can have a generic one then
15:33:28 <mizmo> are we missing any tasks from the minutes last week to discuss?
15:34:19 <sayan> nope

15:34:52 <sayan> should we discuss on this one? https://pagure.io/fedora-hubs/issue/11
15:35:41 <mizmo> devyani7_: around?
15:36:12 <mizmo> sayan: did you get a chance to meet with devyani7_ on this one? i think she said she needed your help and wanted to meet
15:36:30 <a2batic> mizmo, devyani7, is on the way, will be joining soon
15:36:52 <mizmo> cool
15:36:57 <sayan> a2batic: you faced the same issue, right? I could understand what issue were you facing with populate
15:37:31 * a2batic nods
15:38:06 <a2batic> I tried resetting hubs from start, but bookmark wasnt populating
15:38:08 <fm-hubs> pagure.pull-request.comment.added -- abompard commented on pull-request#300 of project "fedora-hubs" https://pagure.io/fedora-hubs/pull-request/300#comment-17213
15:39:32 <sayan> a2batic: the one which populates on the left?
15:39:40 <sayan> I mean the bookmark bar?
15:39:47 <a2batic> sayan, yes
15:40:34 * a2batic searching for the screenshot
15:41:09 <sayan> mizmo: I tried looking into the issue, but could not replicate the one
15:43:38 <sayan> a2batic: devyani7: okay, ping me after the meeting
15:43:48 <mizmo> sayan: did you try on a fresh checkout?
15:43:51 <mizmo> yeh it seems you need more info from them
15:44:01 <sayan> mizmo: yes
15:44:18 <a2batic> sayan, ok
15:44:54 <mizmo> ok anything else to discuss?
15:45:15 <sayan> I abstain from doing a fresh checkout, but for this issue I tried a fresh installation and there seem to be no issue
15:46:08 <fm-hubs> pagure.pull-request.comment.added -- abompard commented on pull-request#300 of project "fedora-hubs" https://pagure.io/fedora-hubs/pull-request/300#comment-17214
15:46:27 <shillman> mizmo: I want to talk to you about lack of replies to my prototype requests of my interviewees, but it doesn't have to be in this meeting.
15:47:05 <sayan> jcline: abompard: we need to work on a way to get dummy data for all the widgets as if you want to invalidate cache often and try stuffs
15:47:22 <mizmo> shillman: sure, i have a call after this tho and im going to take the day off after that, but if you can send me an email i will take a look at lunch and reply
15:47:53 <shillman> OK!
15:48:00 <sayan> right now since it tries to pull prod stuffs it slow
15:48:42 <sayan> mizmo: any updates on the badges path UI you were working on?
15:48:53 <jcline> Hmm, yeah that's worth thinking about
15:49:12 <mizmo> sayan: no i put that on lower priority since we're focusing on IRC for the next milestone... it's still on my todo list just lower priority. i worked on IRC mockups all last week
15:49:52 <mizmo> sayan: although shillman and i were talking about going thru it together so she got some experience with the html/css/templating side of things. we wer talking about looking at it sometimes this week or next iirc
15:49:59 <sayan> mizmo: okay, since I am testing the badges on stg and that work is almost done
15:50:08 <shillman> *nod*
15:50:20 <sayan> so we can push it.
15:50:24 <shillman> We were originally talking about it last week, but then locations got in the way. ;)
15:50:39 <mizmo> yeh
15:50:58 <sayan> shillman: cool
15:52:38 <devyani7> .hello devyani7
15:52:39 <zodbot> devyani7: devyani7 'Devyani Kota' <devyanikota@gmail.com>
15:52:51 * devyani7 apologizes for being late. :(
15:53:17 <devyani7> sayan, nod. will ping you after the meeting.
