It talks about the puppet work flow and hasn't been updated for ansible 18:07:13 basically been pestering nirik for some raw updated info that I volenteered to clean up for the wiki 18:07:40 * threebean nods 18:07:57 mhurron: he's out mostly for the week, at one of our datacenters with smooge. perhaps try again next week with him. 18:08:08 will do 18:08:09 any other apprentice questions or new people that want to introduce themselves? 18:08:37 if not, moving on.. 18:08:39 #topic Applications status / discussion 18:08:57 Any news on our apps front? 18:09:29 I think we're pretty much ready to push bodhi2 to stg very soon 18:09:40 * oddshocks pops in 18:09:44 lmacken: awesome news 18:09:50 which will most likely require a bunch of packaging work, then integration with python-fedora and other tools 18:09:57 and ansible work as well I'm guessing 18:10:26 yeah, lucky that all can go on while the alpha freeze is in effect 18:10:29 good news 18:10:49 threebean: yep 18:11:07 I've been fighting FMN all week. I'm slowly adding all members of the packager group to it and trying to overcome performance hurdles as I hit them. It's slow going so far. 18:11:28 threebean: how many people were in the first batch? 18:11:36 and how bad did it hurt the queue? 18:13:05 we started with 300 people in and we're up to 800 now. there are 1600 packagers total. 18:13:07 it hurt pretty bad, but the python-re2 patch that went out this morning helped a lot. 18:13:10 there's a new issue where it periodically hangs waiting for a dogpile cache lock. I'm still in the middle of figuring it out though. 18:15:01 any other apps discussion? 18:16:23 wow, ~10x faster with re2 18:16:31 would it be worth it to use re2 down in the fedmsg/meta stack too? 18:16:40 like in the topic_prefix_re 18:17:41 none, well.. 18:17:42 #topic Sysadmin status / discussion 18:17:42 zodbot: ? 18:18:24 huh.. well. 18:18:25 Like I said two of our sysadmins are out today dealing with the datacenter. Anybody have items to raise here? 18:18:40 well, except for zodbot just breaking down? not really from me 18:18:41 yup. ;) 18:18:41 well, nirik and smooge are in PHX2, but that's about it I think 18:18:41 * threebean nods 18:18:42 will move along then. short meeting today. 18:18:42 #topic Upcoming Tasks/Items 18:18:42 https://apps.fedoraproject.org/calendar/list/infrastructure/ 18:18:42 anything upcoming to note? 18:18:42 The alpha freeze starts in about two weeks on Feb. 24th. So, we should probably try to land any final changes a little bit before then.. 18:18:57 lmacken: yeah, worth trying. 18:20:53 I'd like to try and land the-new-hotness in production before the freeze takes hold. Will need to coordinate with pingou and tyll next week to make sure that release-monitoring.org is ready and that we can take the old cnucnu offline. 18:21:19 no more details than that atm. I think we have everything ready, just need to check-in. 18:21:23 threebean: sounds good 18:21:36 cool, cool. 18:21:40 #topic Open Floor 18:22:01 Anyone with anything else to add? Ideas? Questions? Favorite pizza toppings? 18:22:54 * threebean is going to try and make one tonight with sausage and broccoli 18:22:54 suggest topics to me to study it 18:23:22 to improve my skills to can deal with infra team 18:23:35 Mohamed_Fawzy: well, definitely have a look at our ansible repository. it's the tool we use to push out configuration to our servers. 18:23:49 so, it'll have all the details of all our apps and services. 18:23:58 https://infrastructure.fedoraproject.org/cgit/ansible.git/tree/ 18:24:29 Mohamed_Fawzy: maybe, pick a service and analyze how its setup? see if you can identify any improvements or come up with questions about it? 18:24:44 good thank you 18:24:51 np 18:25:00 :D 18:25:28 ok, if nothing else I'll close out the meeting in a few minutes. 18:27:20 * relrod checks in way late, sorry :P 18:27:44 relrod: just in time! ;p 18:28:22 ok. thanks for coming all! let's continue in #fedora-{apps,admin,noc} 18:28:24 #endmeeting
