16:01:39 <eddiejenningsjr> .hello eddiejennings
16:01:41 <zodbot> eddiejenningsjr: eddiejennings 'Eddie Jennings' <eddie@eddiejennings.net>
16:01:45 <patrikp[m]> Good evening. 👋
16:01:45 <mkonecny> Hello everyone and welcome to today's tour!
16:01:49 <darknao> .hi
16:01:49 <zodbot> darknao: darknao 'Francois Andrieu' <darknao@drkn.ninja>
16:01:49 <nirik> morning
16:02:28 <mkonecny> We will visit the beautiful depths of Fedora Infra today, so stay tuned for the adventure :-)
16:02:46 <pcreech[m]> .hello pcreech17
16:02:49 <zodbot> pcreech[m]: pcreech17 'Patrick Creech' <pcreech@redhat.com>
16:04:45 <mkonecny> So let's start by checking who is new around
16:04:49 <mkonecny> #topic New folks introductions
16:04:49 <mkonecny> #info This is a place where people who are interested in Fedora Infrastructure can introduce themselves
16:04:49 <mkonecny> #info Getting Started Guide: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Infrastructure/GettingStarted
16:05:09 <mkonecny> Don't be shy, we don't bite :-)
16:05:57 <mkonecny> I think I saw one introduction email in infra mailing list :-)
16:06:30 <pcreech[m]> It was me :D But I did speak up last meeting, a little backwards :D
16:07:22 <mkonecny> So it seems there isn't anybody really new, so let's look at the tour guides for upcoming tours
16:07:30 <mkonecny> #topic Next chair

16:08:00 <eddiejenningsjr> I'm ready to go for next week :)
16:08:06 <mkonecny> Do we have anybody, who wants to try, how it is to be a tour guide of this show?
16:08:22 <mkonecny> Is anybody brave enough?
16:08:58 <nirik> it's only a one hour tour... not a 3 hour one. ;)
16:09:15 <eddiejenningsjr> Chairing is a fun, relatively easy way to be involved.
16:09:54 <mkonecny> You will get a comfortable chair with it :-)
16:09:58 <pcreech[m]> FINE. I guess I can raise my hand...
16:10:25 <pcreech[m]> :D Never did one, feel free to throw me up there
16:10:41 <mkonecny> Welcome to the club :-)
16:10:53 <mkonecny> #info chair 2023-08-10 - pcreech
16:11:31 <mkonecny> And not let's see what we can see from the windows
16:11:51 <mkonecny> On your left you can see some announcements

16:12:00 <mkonecny> #info This meeting is cancelled during Flock
16:12:44 <mkonecny> Do you see anything else?
16:14:23 <nirik> too much glare off the water. ;)
16:15:09 <mkonecny> And on your right you can see oncall
16:15:20 <mkonecny> #topic Oncall
16:15:20 <mkonecny> #info https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Infrastructure/Oncall

16:16:09 <zodbot> eddiejenningsjr: Kneel before zod!
16:16:59 <mkonecny> Anybody who would like to join the on-call group?
16:17:50 <mkonecny> Your name will be in the hall of fame :-)
16:18:32 <darknao> well, in that case :p
16:18:44 <darknao> I can take the 28
16:19:14 <eddiejenningsjr> Being on-call is not intimidating as it seems. You're the first line for answering pings, which will result in either summoning a nirik-like person or directing people to submit tickets.
16:19:15 <mkonecny> It's yours
16:19:33 <eddiejenningsjr> The goal is to keep the Niriks of the world from being pinged during all hours.
16:19:35 <mkonecny> #info darknao is on call from 2023-07-28 to 2023-08-03
16:20:46 <mkonecny> Yeah, nirik-like persons are endangered species
16:21:22 <nirik> just need to bring up more folks.. nothing endangered. ;)
16:22:11 <eddiejenningsjr> I do need to get more involved in the technical things though -- carve time out for it :D
16:22:34 <pcreech[m]> So you're saying we need a "Fedora's next top nirik" contest?
16:22:43 <nirik> ha ha ha.
16:22:57 <mkonecny> So let's look at the highlights from current oncall, before we continue on our tour
16:23:02 <mkonecny> #info Summary of last week: (from current oncall )
16:23:20 <mkonecny> dtometzki: Are you around?
16:24:45 <mkonecny> It doesn't seem so, so let's continue on our tour
16:24:53 <dtometzki__> Yes sorry
16:25:27 <dtometzki__> I got a ping today
16:25:45 <dtometzki__> And no more
16:26:01 <mkonecny> So pretty quiet week it seems
16:27:03 * nirik has a couple of quick items for open floor or whenever.
16:27:40 <mkonecny> Let's continue our tour in the mystery land of monitoring, nirik will be our guide for this place
16:27:46 <mkonecny> #topic Monitoring discussion [nirik]
16:27:46 <mkonecny> #info https://nagios.fedoraproject.org/nagios
16:27:46 <mkonecny> #info Go over existing out items and fix
16:28:23 <nirik> pretty normal over the last week I think... lets see
16:28:50 <nirik> there's a openqa disk space thing, but adamw is looking into it.
16:29:05 <nirik> I adjusted the fmn alerts to be higher and thats helped that.
16:29:15 <nirik> nothing else stands out off hand.
16:30:48 <mkonecny> Thanks nirik for guiding us through this place
16:31:01 <nirik> stay off those reefs!
16:31:25 <mkonecny> And now question do we want to turn left to backlog refinement or go straight to open floor?
16:31:40 * eddiejenningsjr coughs
16:31:55 <nirik> I'm fine either way, or I could quickly do the items I had... or I can do them later.
16:32:29 <mkonecny> We have learning topic set for next week but if Eddie Jennings, Jr. wants to do it today, we can :-)
16:32:43 <eddiejenningsjr> Oh, nevermind. Next week is fine.
16:32:54 <eddiejenningsjr> I forgot it coincided with my chairing of the meeting.
16:34:00 <mkonecny> Let's quickly turn left and look at few tickets than
16:34:24 <mkonecny> #topic Revisit blocked tickets
16:34:24 <mkonecny> #info Check if any blocked ticket is unblocked
16:34:24 <mkonecny> #link https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/issues?status=Open&tags=blocked&priority=0&close_status=
16:34:42 <mkonecny> Any changes here?
16:35:10 * nirik waits for pagure
16:35:31 <nirik> there's a bit of news on 11338
16:35:51 <nirik> django is in epel9 now... so mailman3/hyperkitty are not far away.
16:36:29 <nirik> so... I wonder...
16:36:32 <mkonecny> Nice to hear :-)
16:36:53 <nirik> can we close 11338 and just add a note to 8455? since it's really just blocked by that
16:37:13 <mkonecny> I'm not against it
16:37:18 <smooge> +1
16:37:42 <mkonecny> nirik: Will you do it?
16:38:04 <nirik> I can.
16:38:15 <nirik> I am going to update/reboot pagure.io real quick... it's being sluggish
16:39:30 <mkonecny> Do we want to look at few more tickets or jump to open floor now?
16:39:39 <nirik> might jump while pagure.io reboots at least
16:39:47 <mkonecny> OK
16:39:48 <mkonecny> #topic Open Floor
16:40:01 <mkonecny> And this is our wonderful open floor
16:40:03 <nirik> I had 2 small items...
16:40:10 <mkonecny> Hope you like it :-)
16:41:34 <nirik> First, we have gotten a bunch of 'security vulnerability' emails about our having MultiViews enabled. ie, https://www.acunetix.com/vulnerabilities/web/apache-mod_negotiation-filename-bruteforcing/ They even mark it as "Low". But... I don't know that we use MultiViews at all, so we could just drop that to stop people telling us about it? or does anyone know a place we do use them/need them?
16:42:10 <nirik> I guess I could ask websites about this, but it's configured on our proxy side anyhow.
16:42:28 <mkonecny> I don't knew about any place where it could be used
16:42:54 <nirik> it's in our default templates, but no idea why
16:43:16 <eddiejenningsjr> Maybe do a scream test. Make a change to templates, run playbook, and be ready to change the templates back.
16:43:56 <nirik> it was added in 2007 with the intial import of httpd conf into puppet. ;)
16:43:57 <eddiejenningsjr> Maybe there's a commit history where it was added to the templates that could give some insight?
16:44:14 <nirik> yeah, see above. ;)
16:44:22 <eddiejenningsjr> Beat me to it :D
16:44:46 <nirik> ok, I'll make a PR (unless someone else wants to?) and we can push it and always revert it if it breaks anything
16:45:21 <pcreech[m]> Sounds low risk for a noob to do....
16:45:42 <darknao> +1
16:45:46 <pcreech[m]> I can probably do it in the next day or so
16:45:50 <pcreech[m]> The PR that is
16:46:01 <nirik> That would be excellent! 👍
16:47:27 <nirik> The last thing I had was to ask who all was going to be at flock? I should be there... and I submitted a workshop on working on our onboarding/mentoring docs/flow. I don't want to write all the docs there, but just want to propose a flow/setup and then we can all work on the implementation. So, if you aren't going to be there, still want to hear from everyone...
16:47:50 <mkonecny> I will be there and have a talk about release-monitoring
16:48:54 <patrikp[m]> I am not going to be there but I'd be glad to help if my insights could prove useful.
16:49:22 <eddiejenningsjr> I'll have to check the dates, but I plan to attend.
16:49:24 <nirik> I'd definitely love feedback from new folks or folks that want to be more imvolved.
16:49:56 <pcreech[m]> I won't be at flock but def willing to be ignorant guinea pig
16:50:12 <nirik> and anything we come up with will be run by everyone... no decisions made without everyone in the community involved. ;)
16:51:36 <nirik> anyhow, that was it, just wanted to bring those items up. ;) Thanks everyone
16:51:51 <mkonecny> Thank you nirik
16:52:05 <mkonecny> Anything else for open floor?
16:53:06 <eddiejenningsjr> Hmm. Just now looked at Flock page. It's on-prem rather than virtual.
16:53:25 <mkonecny> It's both, they will stream the talks as well
16:53:31 <nirik> yeah, they do plan to livestream tho
16:53:40 <patrikp[m]> Is the workshop going to be recorded and uploaded some time after? Or livestreamed? I suspect participation from people who are not there physically will not be possible.
16:53:47 <eddiejenningsjr> Ok, then yes. I can attend. Can't fly to Ireland, but can attend streams :D
16:53:56 <nirik> Oh, it also means that that week I will be in metal tubes... so not as available as normal
16:54:13 <nirik> I think both... live and recorded
16:57:15 <mkonecny> We are near the end of your tour
16:57:31 <smooge> 3 hour tour
16:57:34 <mkonecny> If your want to ask anything you have your last chance
16:59:37 <mkonecny> Thanks everybody for joining us on this tour
16:59:43 <mkonecny> I hope you enjoyed it
16:59:49 <smooge> oh multiviews from 2007 sounds like something when we were on Red Hat systems
17:00:02 <mkonecny> But every nice thing needs to end sometime
17:00:03 <smooge> aka really old
17:00:11 <smooge> oop sorry wrong channel
17:00:13 <mkonecny> Let's meet next time :-)
17:00:17 <mkonecny> #endmeeting
