17:04:07 <zodbot> Southern_Gentlem: Ping with data, please: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/No_naked_pings
17:04:16 <nirik> ok, I guess lets go ahead and start in. ;)
17:04:20 <nirik> #topic Week in review
17:04:31 <Khaytsus> Southern_Gentlem: pong
17:04:40 <Khaytsus> Gracias
17:04:44 <nirik> I have one item that people are hitting for everyone to be aware of:
17:05:14 <nirik> dnf-1.1.2-2 is broken. It was pushed to rawhide and f23/f22 updates-testing. So f23 people may well have it, as well as anyone with updates-testing enabled.
17:05:22 <Khaytsus> Still the same race condition with selinux/systemd? I've quoted your fix 3-4 times so far :) Oh, different issue.
17:06:00 <nirik> fix there is to download the newer one (in testing today I think) and update to it. (It will work locally to update packages)
17:06:14 <nirik> yeah, the selinux/systemd thing is another common one people are hitting. ;(
17:07:25 <nirik> these things are transitory, but I wonder if we shouldn't keep some kind of thing to point people to about them...
17:07:32 <nirik> not that they happen too often
17:07:48 <Southern_Gentlem> nirik, so we should tell people to downgrade dnf for now
17:08:01 <nirik> or upgrade to the newer fixed one from today
17:08:37 <nirik> the broken one can't do anything with the network repos. So you cannot just do a 'dnf downgrade dnf' or something. You have to download the packages locally. ;(
17:09:46 * randomuser found `dnf upgrade \*` worked
17:10:33 <nirik> huh, I wouldn't have thought it would...
17:10:50 <nirik> I suspect we will see more and more folks asking about 'no f23 updates'
17:12:10 <Discordian> Apologies
17:12:12 <nirik> ok, anything else for week in review?
17:12:17 <nirik> common issues or concerns?
17:12:20 <nirik> welcome Discordian
17:12:25 <Discordian> thanks
17:12:45 <striker> fpaste is broken
17:13:03 <striker> --sysinfo does not cut 'last 20 installed' -- it just shows all installed pkgs
17:13:06 <striker> https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1262937
17:13:29 <striker> causes the paste to truncate, cutting off the rest of the info
17:13:46 <nirik> fun.
17:13:51 <striker> I already submitted a patch, testing script is linked in the bz
17:14:01 <nirik> I think FranciscoD was making paste updates this morning, not sure if he was going to add that
17:14:20 <striker> k
17:14:38 <striker> also, per a discussion in ops, we created a wiki page to list #fedora bans
17:14:40 <striker> https://fedorahosted.org/irc-support-sig/wiki/fedora-banned
17:15:01 <striker> any of us should be able to update this whenever
17:15:07 <nirik> striker: was going to talk about that in the next topic, but ok. ;)
17:15:11 <striker> ah
17:15:21 <nirik> #topic Beta cycle cleanups
17:15:22 <nirik> :)
17:15:42 <nirik> we also may be able to make that list smaller with less overlaps if someone wants to try and do so.
17:15:52 <nirik> I think there's a number that overlap
17:17:06 <nirik> anything else on this?
17:17:33 <striker> not from me
17:18:10 <Southern_Gentlem> its hard wehn the keep evadeing the bans
17:18:13 <nirik> I guess folks should try and be extra alert the next week or so in case anyone who was cleared from the banlist comes back for more.
17:18:15 <Southern_Gentlem> when they
17:18:32 <nirik> some of them are also the bot banning people for forbidden words.
17:18:39 <nirik> I think it does exact bans
17:18:52 <Khaytsus> Sorry, I stepped out for a minute
17:20:13 <nirik> #topic Open Floor
17:20:19 <nirik> anyone have anything for open floor?
17:20:37 <striker> https://fedorahosted.org/irc-support-sig/ticket/183
17:20:45 <nirik> I have one item since Khaytsus is here... ;) How is the admonishing people for bad language working out?
17:20:54 <nirik> oh yeah, I keep forgetting that ticket. ;)
17:21:01 <striker> :)
17:21:10 <striker> on language, people seem to be cursing less
17:21:34 <nirik> I'm fine with adding the change in the ticket... to which section was that?
17:22:07 <striker> 'Be Polite'
17:22:24 <nirik> ah, found it.
17:23:36 <nirik> sure. +1... not that anyone reads the topic or the faq. ;)
17:24:57 <Khaytsus> nirik: Sorry, I looke daway again.. I think it's working well to remind people
17:25:12 <Khaytsus> I think leaving it as is (warning them, poking -ops) is working out okay. Any opinions?
17:25:22 <nirik> seems fine to me.
17:27:54 <Southern_Gentlem> well we know when it fires repeatedly we have an issue and can go look
17:28:06 <nirik> yeah.
17:28:07 <Khaytsus> heh
17:28:26 <Khaytsus> So I'll leave it as no "action", just messaging
17:28:41 <nirik> I think thats best. Most people say sorry and learn from it.
17:28:46 <Khaytsus> I think it reminds people and they almost always stop. Don't see _too many repeat offenders.
17:28:55 <nirik> the few who don't can be handled manually.
17:29:05 <Southern_Gentlem> yes i think no action let an op handle if its getting ridulous
17:29:54 <nirik> cool. So anything else for open floor?
17:30:09 <nirik> striker: you want to just make that faq change and close the ticket? or anyone have objections?
17:30:30 <striker> sure, I can do that
17:31:58 <Southern_Gentlem> should we go ahead and clear the #fedora-social bans ?
17:33:18 <Southern_Gentlem> at least the we know are not really problem children
17:33:46 <nirik> Sure, I am ok with it... but there are yeah, some people who should stay there too.
17:33:48 <Southern_Gentlem> at least the ones we know are not the problem children
17:33:51 <Khaytsus> That include obbourne?
17:33:55 <Southern_Gentlem> yep
17:33:59 <nirik> yes, he should be banned there too.
17:34:19 <Southern_Gentlem> DrMAnhattan
17:34:44 * nirik nods. we can discuss out of band? make a wiki page for it as well?
17:37:13 * nirik listens to the crickets.
17:37:18 <striker> https://fedorahosted.org/irc-support-sig/wiki/fedora-social-banned
17:37:20 <EvilBob> I was planning on clearing -social some time this weekend in the middle of the night
17:37:51 <nirik> sounds good.
17:37:56 <EvilBob> If there is someone on the list that should stay they will also be on the list for the main channel
17:38:14 <EvilBob> no need for two wiki pages to maintain.
17:38:31 <striker> easy enough to delete a page :)
17:38:36 * nirik shrugs. Fine either way with me.
17:38:59 <nirik> I suspect there's a pretty large overlap in the lists.
17:39:11 <EvilBob> I guess Southern_Gentlem decided to nuke the ban list in -social...
17:39:24 <nirik> oh, seems so.
17:39:56 <EvilBob> I'll toss my note...
17:40:47 <Southern_Gentlem> look and see if there was someone i missed
17:41:34 <nirik> and everyone keep an eye out for repeat offenders who come back and need to be re-added. ;)
17:41:49 <nirik> anything else for the meeting? or shall we call it a day?
17:42:30 <nirik> if nothing will close in a minute
17:42:32 <CogsKDA> Sorry for interrupt, but wanted to introduce myself.
17:42:43 * striker waves
17:43:36 <nirik> CogsKDA: ok?
17:44:09 <CogsKDA> Just join and watching to see if there is anything I can contrubute... Thanks!
17:44:39 <Southern_Gentlem> CogsKDA, so what channels do you stay in
17:44:47 <nirik> CogsKDA: great. Always can use help in #fedora. ;)
17:44:52 <EvilBob> Have a great day and good luck. If you don't have any luck, at least have fun.
17:45:01 <CogsKDA> I am a developer. Messing arround with kernel.
17:45:14 <CogsKDA> Not sure where I would fit in in fedora...
17:45:40 <nirik> CogsKDA: take a look at http://whatcanidoforfedora.org/
17:45:46 <nirik> it should point you in the right direction. :)
17:45:51 <CogsKDA> Thanks.
17:46:05 <nirik> ok, thanks for coming everyone!
17:46:08 <nirik> #endmeeting
