well, this is awkward
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:02:06
:D
<@farchord:fedora.im>
16:02:29
Will the quality meeting fun be of the highest quality? Or do we need a meeting for that?
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:02:43
the fun is entirely notional
<@farchord:fedora.im>
16:02:51
XD
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:07:53
alrighty, let's do a boutique, small-batch, artisanally-crafted meeting
<@adamwill:fedora.im>

!topic Previous meeting follow-up
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:08:41
!info as is now the tradition, adamw still hasn't done "adamw to propose rewording of the beta upgrade criterion footnote about package sets", and totally promises he'll do it sometime this decade
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:09:31
any other followup?
<@kparal:matrix.org>
16:10:33
nothing here
<@sumantrom:fedora.im>
16:10:45
Nothing here as well
<@adamwill:fedora.im>

!topic Fedora 42 status
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:11:59
there's a few things going on....latest kernel builds seem to be failing to boot in openqa so they're gated, last anaconda build didn't hide its window title in KDE so it's gated
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:12:08
not aware of anything terrible that's made it through gating
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:12:12
anyone else have any notes?
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:13:13
oof, brb
<@kparal:matrix.org>
16:13:40
I don't know about any fire in F42. Still looking at Forgejo, will write up some summary soon.
<@nielsenb:fedora.im>
16:13:52
Seems to be working okay for my toy Raspberry Pi deployments
<@adamwill:fedora.im>

!topic Anaconda webui test week follow-up
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:19:43
!info so we had the anaconda webui test week, https://testdays.fedoraproject.org/events/204 , thanks a lot to everyone who joined in
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:20:07
it looks like on the whole the experience was fairly good but there are several bug reports
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:20:59
as this is a pretty significant area we should probably follow up specifically on those, i'll tag them all in the whiteboard for now so we can find them easily later
<@m4rtink:fedora.im>
16:22:33
Thanks to everyone involved! :)
<@nielsenb:fedora.im>
16:23:17
I think my issue with BIOS dual boot Windows 10 machines and space reclaiming is fixed, but I haven't gotten a chance to check yet
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:23:52
mkolman: do you have any particular plans for followup? did you get useful feedback out of the event?
<@m4rtink:fedora.im>
16:24:51
jkonecny: will know more, but we definitely got some very useful feedback & found important bugs to fix :)
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:25:42
thanks
<@m4rtink:fedora.im>
16:26:56
I don't think we have another organized even just now - basically just fix what is important & possible for F42 & record relevant feedback for fixing going further. :)
<@m4rtink:fedora.im>
16:27:15
(fixing and implementation)
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:27:26
!info anaconda team is happy with the feedback and bug reports and will be working on fixes
<@m4rtink:fedora.im>
16:28:33
BTW, it seems to me that some features (such as resize & multi-boot) while were always available, are easier to use & people do make use of them.
<@m4rtink:fedora.im>
16:28:53
So some of the bugs might even be edge case reproducible in the GTK GUI. :)
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:29:16
yeah, i'm seeing that
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:29:29
several of the reports look to be not webui-related
<@m4rtink:fedora.im>
16:31:25
Yeah. The Web UI having a powerful upstream unit test framework (coming from Cockpit) should help a lot - we never really had anything like this upstream before.
<@m4rtink:fedora.im>
16:32:07
So some if not most of these issues once fixed should be covered by Web UI unit tests AFAIK. :)
<@m4rtink:fedora.im>
16:33:27
That should make it hopefully easier to spot some more complex breakage before it blows up in OpenQA. :)
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:33:50
thanks mkolman!
<@adamwill:fedora.im>

<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:37:36
please come along and help out if you can

<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:40:58
any other business, folks?
<@nielsenb:fedora.im>
16:42:42
Are the meeting announcement email templates somewhere? I would like to add a
<@nielsenb:fedora.im>
16:42:42
date -d '2024-11-25 16:00 UTC' or whatever invocation to the body text, like a lot of other Fedora announcement emails
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:46:23
they are in my outbox
<@nielsenb:fedora.im>
16:46:37
Well fine then :D
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:46:40
i put the web link in as a more user-friendly alternative to that
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:46:51
it felt a bit stereotypical to be recommending console commands
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:48:25
i suppose we could have both
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:49:18
and, i suppose, in your inbox. :D i just copy it from week to week and edit appropriately. naturally, i never make *any* mistakes
<@nielsenb:fedora.im>
16:50:29
Having another thing to manually edit in an email feels like unnecessary work to satisfy my preference for consistency
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:52:00
it's a bit awkward because obviously it always requires some level of editing, it's not like the release validation emails which can be entirely automated
<@nielsenb:fedora.im>
16:52:10
Yeah
<@adamwill:fedora.im>
16:53:43
alrighty, guess we're done...thanks for coming, folks!
