Hello, this will be probably extra short meeting
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:01:38
its thanks giving week in the US so most folks are not around
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:01:59
and I am fixing osbs cluster in stg after I shot myself in foot
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:02:58
!info staging koji builders are now running f39
<@smooge:fedora.im>
16:03:38
congrats on the koji builder updates
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:03:50
my first :)
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:06:31
!info PDC retirement updates
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:07:03
we have a new cron job that gathers all retired packages from git metadata deployed in stg
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:07:40
the script itself works but it seems there is issues with ownership in the repos
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:10:58
work continues on releng scripts and pagure-distgit to remove any pdc api calls
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:13:10
!info mdapi now includes epel9 branch for packages
<@smooge:fedora.im>
16:13:17
cool
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:13:24
I am not sure how we creaate new epel release
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:13:30
but this should get documented
<@smooge:fedora.im>
16:13:34
oh sorry
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:13:45
the PR is simple it just needs to be somwhere in docs
<@smooge:fedora.im>
16:14:55
yeah currently all it is just 'goto system with write access to /pub/archive; mkdir /pub/archive/epel/8.9; mkdir /pub/archive/epel/9.2; '
<@smooge:fedora.im>
16:15:54
normally it was done before the RHEL release would happen so that the epel code would just have the things in it from there. Now I would expect it would need to be copied from a specific date compose
<@smooge:fedora.im>
16:16:09
if that is still possible
<@smooge:fedora.im>
16:16:16
does that help any?
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:17:00
yes and no :)
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:17:36
epel has its own tracker right?
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:18:04
I think I will open ticket there with info not to forget to request mdapi branch when creating new epel release
<@smooge:fedora.im>
16:19:49
oh sorry major mdapi release and not archive
<@smooge:fedora.im>
16:20:08
yeah that is going to need to be dealt with for EL10
<@smooge:fedora.im>
16:20:26
carlwgeorge will need to outline that I think
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:22:51
yeah I created ticket in the epel tracker
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:26:51
!topic Open Floor
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:27:17
Ok I am going to look into deployment of osbs in stg using rhel as in prod will see what happens
<@carlwgeorge:matrix.org>
16:27:49
yeah we definitely need to write up epel bringup. it changed with epel next and will change again with epel10, so it will be good to document it as we go to make it easier going forward.
<@carlwgeorge:matrix.org>
16:29:16
i'd like to help with a separate releng issue https://pagure.io/releng/issue/10852#comment-884953
<@carlwgeorge:matrix.org>
16:30:04
i had stg-koji permissions at one point, but do not any longer. can i get those back so i can test the distsuffix fix?
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:31:21
I think that should be doable
<@carlwgeorge:matrix.org>
16:32:03
fedora-packager has a stg-koji command
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:32:43
there is also -s switch
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:32:45
anyhow
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:32:51
let me grant you koji admin in stg
<@carlwgeorge:matrix.org>
16:33:45
once i prove that approach works, is that tag setting controlled in prod by ansible? or is it just run directly by an admin?
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:36:51
carlwgeorge: you have the admin perms on stg
<@carlwgeorge:matrix.org>
16:37:02
thanks
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:38:51
quick grep on ansible didnt return match
<@carlwgeorge:matrix.org>
16:41:59
alright, once i verify i'll just leave the commands in the ticket for a prod admin to run when they have time
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:51:15
thanks everybody
<@humaton:fedora.im>
16:51:24
see you next week
