23:48:51 <cmurf> #topic Release art for GNOME Software
23:48:53 <cmurf> #link https://pagure.io/fedora-workstation/issue/230
23:48:55 <cmurf> We are a few weeks out before the beta freeze and it's time to start figuring it out. If there are gnome-software changes they need to happen before the upstream freezes start.
23:48:57 <cmurf> Allan has been working with Milan and thinks that we can have a single branded banner which is just a generic Fedora one and doesn't need updating every 6 months.
23:48:59 <cmurf> Neal is advocating for keeping the branding that shows the next release's background. He thinks that it's a little bit of polish that shows that an upgrade is a step forward, instead of more of the same. Allan thinks that it's not worth it given the constraints.
23:49:01 <cmurf> Neal says that sadly we don't have an easy way to attach AppStream metadata to Fedora yum repos, which would make all of this much simpler.
23:49:03 <cmurf> Philip's complaint: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-software/-/issues/1225#note_1230118
23:49:05 <cmurf> Michael says that we are bad at remembering to update things every 6 months. It would be pragmatic if we can find a way without having to do it.
23:49:07 <cmurf> Neal suggest that the artwork team should have a way to tune the knobs what color the text should be on the release art banner.
23:49:09 <cmurf> Allan: Can we make a decision?
23:49:11 <cmurf> Michael: Let's keep art and implement one of Allan's new designs as fallback.
23:49:13 <cmurf> Luna: well my 5 cent, have a good image with the Fedora Wallpaper for the upcoming release and the text in a readable colour, if thats too much for every 6 months, maybe have a fallback picture with the new Fedora Logo and a blue background and text in white or something like that
23:49:15 <cmurf> #topic Add selected Flathub apps to the third-party repos
23:49:17 <cmurf> #link https://pagure.io/fedora-workstation/issue/108
23:49:19 <cmurf> Owen has been working on getting the bits he implemented packaged up and into Fedora. Could use someone to review XXX and XXX.
23:49:21 <cmurf> Michael says that we need to make sure the 3rd party things have AppData so they show up in gnome-software.
23:49:23 <cmurf> Talks about checks if Silverblue/RPM-OS-Tree System or not
23:49:25 <cmurf> Neal to Review
