03:55:45 <brainycmurf> Mark gave us the background (a closed source utility to unlock WAN (5G) modems - FCC requirement) about the situation and wondering where to put things like this in the Fedora ecosystem (MIPI cameras are affected as well as these be part of the future Lenovo laptops - actually already shipped in some high end configurations of current Lenovo laptops as well and will show up across the laptop portfolio) and whether rpmfusion is the
03:55:50 <brainycmurf> right answer as it has its own problems (from Fedora Legal POV on the other hand MIPI and NVIDIA drivers are shipped there). Owen raised a problem with 3rd party repositories and the involvement of GNOME Software and other tools that would have to provide a way to enable/disable that repository. Mark and Owen discussed the idea of the "Lenovo addon repository". Neal mentioned that we already gave that idea to Tuxedo and Slimbook and
03:55:55 <brainycmurf> also mentions that it should have all the metadata available (to work properly with GNOME Software or Plasma Discover and others). We came to no conclusion but we've discussed the ideas (especially the Lenovo specific repository).
03:55:59 <brainycmurf> #topic Announcements and status updates
03:56:01 <brainycmurf> Owen shared that he has build Fedora Flatpaks without modularity involved.
03:56:05 <brainycmurf> Ray is working hard on Anaconda Web UI integration.
03:56:07 <brainycmurf> Kalev has managed to package Loupe and replaced Eye of GNOME with it in comps for Fedora 39 beta
