18:47:23 <brainycmurf> Flatpak updates are blocked on infra issues, but those are being addressed, flatpaks bundled into Silverblue have been rebuilt. (https://github.com/fedora-infra/bodhi/pull/5498)
18:47:26 <brainycmurf> Discussion of problem with GDM starting Wayland session (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2238711)
18:47:29 <brainycmurf> Discussion of what we want to advertise for this release
18:47:33 <brainycmurf> #topic Evaluate our X11 session offering

18:47:37 <brainycmurf> The plan is to invite members of the Red Hat graphics team to speak to us. So we know who to invite: what questions do we have for them?
18:47:40 <brainycmurf> Neal mentions a hybrid graphics feature gap with Wayland, that is being worked on - https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/3304
18:47:43 <brainycmurf> Neal: feedback in the ticket has indicated a small number of other gaps that need to be narrowed
18:47:45 <brainycmurf> Potential questions for the graphics team:
18:47:47 <brainycmurf> * Could there be complications with the proprietary nvidia driver? What are the feature gaps here? (eg. stereo support)
18:47:50 <brainycmurf> * What are the outstanding wayland feature gaps in general?
18:47:52 <brainycmurf> Owen: what are the actual benefits of removing the xorg session? Someone is always going to want the xorg session for something. The biggest gain is to drop the code from mutter - that requires talking to the mutter developers.
18:47:56 <brainycmurf> Michael: since xorg isn't used/tested much and has issues, having it as an optional package would make sense. If mutter wants to remove xorg support then its up to them.
18:47:59 <brainycmurf> Kalev: removing the xorg session sends a message to app developers - that they need to support Wayland.
18:48:04 <brainycmurf> Owen: we can declare that xorg session isn't supported while still making it available as a package.
18:48:07 <brainycmurf> #topic Firefox: Firefox Home could be used by default
18:48:09 <brainycmurf> #link https://pagure.io/fedora-workstation/issue/389
18:48:11 <brainycmurf> - Opinion from Matthew Miller "It's also one of the few places where we display Fedora identity clearly on the desktop, and connect people into the project and community. I don't want to lose that."
18:48:14 <brainycmurf> - This only affects the initial launch of Firefox and the (hidden by default) Home button
18:48:16 <brainycmurf> - Discussed possibility of "pinning" the Fedora start page to Firefox Home in some fashion
18:48:18 <brainycmurf> - Neal would like to see the *new* Fedora start page
18:48:20 <brainycmurf> - Michael considers home pages to be pretty old fashioned - who wants that these days?
18:48:22 <brainycmurf> - Others (Owen, Kalev, etc.) fine with deferring to Matthew
18:48:24 <brainycmurf> - Consensus not to change anything
